I'm told... The story is that the driver got out of the Jeep to spot another vehicle and didn't set the brake/put it in park correctly. It rolled off the edge of the road with the passenger and dog still inside.

I saw a quick blurb about that yesterday. Dude is lucky he didn't get tangled up and drug down with the other jeep

 

Holy crap that must have been a traumatic thing to see! Glad everyone survived and you didn't get crushed during all of this! I'm planning a big road trip sometime in the next few years to go and hit this trail plus a bunch of the other passes around there, sure hope that doesn't happen to me!

 

I don't think I'd want to be a passenger on Black Bear, or at least on the initial shelf road section and the first few switchbacks?

 

Dude was a dumb ass who got a young woman seriously injured.

I was talking about the guy who got the dashcam not the other one that made the mistake. I'll also hold my judgement of the young man who this happened to because it's poor taste to call someone a dumb ass when it very well may have been mechanical error that caused this. Just remember he's going to have to live with the emotional side of what happened the rest of his life.

 

Because you were there and witnessed him doing something stupid to cause this? Easy to pass judgment through a keyboard.

 

I was basing it on what the OP posted about the parking brake. Excuse me, he may have set the parking brake and had the engine off, and the jeep spontaneously jumped down the hill on its own. My bad

 

Misunderstood you I see you were talking about the guy with the dash cam. My concerns are with the young lady who was seriously injured. Likely will have to live with far more than emotional scars. She has serious spinal injuries according to news reports.

Your sarcasm and snide comments aren't welcome to what is a tragic situation. I guess your parents never taught you empathy or if you ain't got nothing nice to say don't say nothing at all. But I would suggest you do so.

 

Any empathy for the girl? I’ve shown mine. The only empathy I’ve seen from others is for the guy who got out of the Jeep before the crash. He’s safe. You have a responsibility to your passengers. Parking brakes don’t fail without warning, you should know if they are working properly. I think there are a lot of folks here who don’t like the idea of personal responsibility, yet that is the only thing that can keep people safe.

 

I could throw up watching that. Awful.

 

I don't have to publicly show what I do to have the whole world know or see to virtue signal to feel better about it. But if you must know I donated and am praying for all that are involved sooooooooo..................Now I challenge you to put your $$$$$ where your mouth is and stop the BS empathy crap under the guise of bashing someone for something you know nothing about.

This one should be titled 'Boring AF drive up dirt road'.

 

Wow.....hard to believe anybody, human or canine, survived that. Prayers out to the lady.
