Anyone else experience that rhythmic rattle the cabin fan makes at the first couple speeds? I was hoping I'd just get used to it, but it's like wheel of fortune hell if I don't have the windows down or the stereo loud enough to cancel it out.

Dealer said it's operating normally...which translates to "We know the fan is a POS, and replacing it won't help".

I guess it's sort of like the squealing you get from the clutch. Just a few defective parts that aren't dangerous enough to warrant recall.

If it is under warranty, tell the dealer they need to replace. It is not supposed to tick. There is a serious quality control problems w/ their blower motors. If you look into the DIY Maintenance sticky, you will see a couple ways to try and solve the issue. I would make the dealer replace. I fixed mine for three weeks and it is ticking again. I'm about to buy a new one and see what happens. It is annoying as heck.

My fan also had a noise. At first, the dealership insisted that there may be leaves in the housing causing the noise and they cleaned it out during service. A year later, the rattle persisted. It took me 45 minutes discussing the issue with the clerk in order to get them to admit there was a noise. Once that was accomplished they replaced it and it was under warranty.

It was a pain for me, but now I have a quite fan.
