Why have I not seen this game before?

I was looking for something to play in 4K until RDR2 comes out. I was looking thru the XBOX list of 4K games and watching you tube vids when I came across this gem. I ended up buying the Gold digital DL. Unfortunately it took over two hours to do that so I only played it for 30 minutes so far.

The graphics are F*ing unreal. I can't wait until I can get some time on it after work tomorrow.

Ha I have put far too much time into this game already. It's a good one!

Dang, I bought it, played about 2/3 of the main storyline and traded it in for God of War (super happy with that game). I really dont want to be a debbie downer, as I am a big fan of the Far Cry games because of the open world and freedom to visit the main story at your leisure. This one frustrated me because it kept pulling me out of side missions to force the main mission forward. And one part in particular where you are forced to play the same part over and over was particularly frustrating. Plus the 'Murica! attitude was humorous at first, but got a little old after a while. However, I do agree that the environment and graphics are top notch, and some of the smaller things like fishing and hunting were were pretty cool.

Oh I agree with everything you stated. the 'Merica! thing is what kept me from even looking into the game in the first place.

I just finished pretty much everything in Assasin's Creed Origins and the game play is very similar although the topic is completely different. It too got kinda repetitive tword the end.

Like ACO I like to go gong ho at the enemies but in these games sometimes it's best to go in quietly or just run away and come back later.

I just can't get over how large the open worlds are and just how many things there are to do. I spent a couple hours ignoring missions just trying to find a fishing pole so I could fish.
Now I'm flying around in a helicopter with a sidekick to help me out.

Although I finished the main missions in the game playing almost every day I'm still only 50% done with it (Not including all the DLC's). The more I play it the more I like it.
Here is a better video showing only gameplay and cut scenes.

Another thing that is a first for me is they use the actors that they motion capture for the game and make a lot of real life videos available to watch.

I just started playing the Vietnam DLC, pretty good so far. Your basically just rescuing your captured squad mates.

I'm going through this campaign a 2nd time, trying to take down the outposts with nothing but non-firearms attacks (Melee take downs, Bait thrown to attract predators, throwing knives, throwing shovels at Cultists, and copious usage of Peaches, Boomer, and Cheeseburger)

The Lost in Mars DLC is also a lot of fun. It's like a whole new game.

Just finished the campaign Monday. I choose to not leave. I wasn't about to go through it again to see the other ending so I just watched it on YouTube. Depressing!

The flying sucks. So much potential for a great experience in the air.... but damn did they screw that up. Hell, they even got the control surfaces reversed! Super disappointed with that. Otherwise it’s fun to run around killing everything. Not the best far cry in the series in my opinion. Far cry 3 was my favorite so far.

I can't tell you how many times I died just trying the wingsuit not knowing that the left control stick up equals down. Would have been nice if you could activate it before you jump cause it doesn't always set fast enough.
