Agreed that your 1st picture looks terrible but part of the problem is the way the wheel arches are on those trucks - not necessarily apple to apples. Fenders and wheel wells on our trucks look much better. Less like giant square lego block cut outs.

Also think about future problems. The bigger lift you go, the more likely you will run into possible future mods. Changing to needle bearings due to vibration, possible additional trimming, bad angles, boot issues...

Seems you and your husband aren’t real familiar with lift suspensions (as you stated) so go through the lift threads. There are TONS, look at level kits and 2-3” lifts. Look at 6” lifts. You can literally see every possible combination in these threads. Go through the long bed thread and the “show your color” thread. The less aggressive lift you go though, the less likely you will have future issues.

Maybe 285/70/17 33" tires look too small but deep dish 33x12.5 look sexy as hell to me

    IMG_8609.jpg

Can't tell for sure but these actually might be 285s in the picture with fat negative offset. However, 33x12.5s do in fact look really nice.

Lift your truck 1.75 inchs, then get the rest of the lift from 33 inch tires using your current wheels for a total of about 3 inchs of lift, forget about a 6 inch lift that will destroy the value of your truck.

Get the 6" and have fun. It will be awesome .people here are stoopid . Find a lift youre interested in and call them .they will tell you everything you need to know and will keep their opinions to themselves. fACT: the truck will be slow as shit and won't handle great .there will also be a lot of add ons and modifications to get done but it will look great .it will also be more expensive than you thought .

Under the Moss Magnuson act anything that is replaced by aftermarket parts does not hold a warranty as it is not original parts. If you’re aftermarket parts cause malfunction, wear, or anything of that nature then the warranty will also be voided.

I had my high pressure fuel pump replaced under warranty. That part alone with labor was $1300.00

Can’t imagine what other parts would cost...

Especially when you’re cutting the cross member for a 6” drop bracket lift...

Big reason I don’t plan to lift anytime soon, if at all. I don’t crawl on rocks or at the mall. Just wanted a highly capable 4x4 because of where I live and the hikes we enjoy doing.

No issues with anyone doing small or large lifts, just getting old at this point. Too old to fix and mod stuff every other weekend. lol

Yeah I was just hoping for a one and done lift and tires. I won’t be crawling on rocks. But I do want my truck to look different. I hate looking like a stock truck

Okay so after learning more about lifting (thank you everyone for being patient and teaching me a bit)
I decided I do not want to cut anything. Just a lift and spacers, stock wheels and larger tires.
From my understanding I can do this with just doing a 3” lift and it’ll look just as sexy as all of your trucks.
    Am I right?

I feel ya. Taco number 7 since high school, modded and lifted a few, spent my time wrenching and fixing all the small things that come up when you lift even if it’s a street queen and just not worth it to me anymore, money or time wise. But everyone has different priorities. I’ve never had a drop bracket lift but have installed and worked on a few, which is why from my experience I was giving OP my opinion on better options.

Does anyone have a pic of theirs lifted with bigger tires on stock wheels?
