Had an old short box step side 81 Chevy that someone had squeezed a 454 in. Had the four speed with creeper gear. That was one hell of a truck and one hell of an engine.

The Ford 5.slow is ok they did an ok job with it. I like the 4 vavle 4.6 supercharged 03-04 cobra motor. That was what Ford did a great job on.

When I was stationed in Germany all the big signal stations had a repurposed WWII diesel motor like those as the backup generator. They scrapped the German submarines after WWII but repurposed the diesels as generators. They already were set up to serve as generators to recharge the sub batteries. Goddamn those things were loud.

Of all the vehicles I've owned in this meager Life of mine, I'd have to say the Ram Air 400 in my 70 1/2 Trans Am was by far the sweetest running V8 I have ever had the pleasure of calling mine.

The Ford 3.8L SuperCharged V6, from the '89-'95 T-Bird "Super Coupe" was the first engine I ever totally tore-down & rebuilt. So it takes honorable mention...

But my favorite engine of all time...

Ford 7.0L 427ci F/E side-oiler, found in original Shelby Cobras.

    Howdy,
as I remember back in 1960, the triple carbed 348 Chevy was pretty good until it came up against the tri power 389 Pontiac. Next I had a 62 Chevy 409 and kicked Pontiac butt. Next I had a 396 Camaro which kicked butt. All were good streetable engines. Have a goodun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3.2 short stroke ,twin plugged flat six porsche engine. Mine produced 450 ftlbs of torque and would blow the doors off almost anything because it was in my 2400lb 930.. Fun days also scary

The 3.5L EcoBoost in my Ford SHO, roughly 400HP and 440TQ with just a $400.00 ECU tune, and the torque was all there at around 1800 RPMs. That engine has so much potential that guys were reliably getting close to 600HP out of them with stock internals, with room to go further once they addressed GDI fuel delivery limitations.

Another favorite was the 383 stroker I had in my '79 Chevy pickup. That thing sounded awesome and it had plenty of power too.

The S52 in my BMW M3 was a great engine too, loved the way it sounded when it was wound out to 6500-7000 RPM.
