I’ll try and make this months meet. I like Flycaster(mainly because I’m a huge fly fisherman) but I’ll echo that it is tiny, and parking can be tough too.

That's a great trip! Did the trial last summer and stayed at the White Crack camp. We had a fantastic time. A little jealous that you're doing it in March. It should be a lot cooler than when we did it in July.

It took me eight years from when I found out about that trail to when I ran the trail. Knowing what I know now I would have gone sooner. You can easily be in Moad in a day and a half. We got off the trail around 2:30 on a Friday and headed for home. Stayed the night in Twin Falls Idaho and we were home by 5 on Saturday.

Straight drive time form here was 17 hours. Did it in October.

I was down there in September and went to Zion, Canyon lands, arches, Moab, Bryce Canyon, castle valley. It was 4K miles in 6 days, we did the same thing, stayed in hot springs Idaho for just a quick place to sleep, and camped BLM land the rest of the trip.

I really want to go back and spend a week just in Moab and do the white rim and castle valley more.

would also like to take another trip to the same area and kayak down the Colorado and camp on the shores

Utah is the first place I’ve really gone outside of the NW and I can’t believe I haven’t been down south before. Beautiful country

Same. Did the trip down with an overnight stop in SLC and straight through in 17 hours on the way back. My back regretted not stopping on the way back.

I got camp sites at Taylor and White Crack, which I think are the two best camp sites in the park. Taylor is so remote. You have the entire world to yourself back in the canyon. White Crack is at the overlook of the confluence of the Colorado and Green Rivers. The views are amazing. Even though I went in October, I'm jealous.

Went the first 2 weeks of October. Got down to 25 at night. So we rented a trailer at OK rv park. Tuesday to Tuesday was only $800 split 5 ways. Was nice to have a base camp. Come back and shower up.

I was down there the first week of October and when I was by Bryce Canyon in the RTT, the bars on the inside were frosty. Needless to say, I’m ditching the cheap summer sleeping bag and getting a decent 0 degree bag this year.

I know what you mean about spending more time in Moab. The White Rim is the only place we went to in Moab. For us, it was pretty much just a stopover. My wife had a week-long conference in San Diego last summer and we did a very roundabout way of getting home. The kid and I spent a day in Anza Borrego one of the days she was at the conference. From there we hit Joshua Tree, Flagstaff, Chaco Canyon in New Mexico, Colorado, and finally the White Rim Trail. The wife and I both would love to go back to Moab and Colorado.
