This version is fully hidden and requires no trimming of the storage panel. It does, however, require drilling a few small holes (1/4" at the biggest) that end up getting hidden.

ETA on the new version is end of August at the earliest. This is based on a 30 day crowdfunding campaign, 90 days for manufacturer lead time, and a little fluff built in.

Thanks for the good words. :) I think your audio wiring setup might be problematic. The motor mounts in a very small space on the side of the drivers side cubby, near the bottom of the cubby. I unfortunately have no photos of the "behind the scenes" guts of the setup. I could probably meet up with a local member who has a prototype in his truck and snap a few pics of the setup installed, with the passenger side storage cubby removed to show what the installed kit looks like underneath. It might be a while before I can do this though -- busy at work for the next 8 days.

I'm building a page on indiegogo, one of kickstarters biggest competitors. They seem to be a lot less strict on how projects get presented. Kickstarter is the Soup Nazi of crowdfunding sites.

This is an older prototype of the AC install, but the idea is similar to the current design. The main difference for the AC with the new kit design is that the cables are longer, and the motor mounts to the lower drivers side of the back wall of the cab. Also, the new cable anchor brackets are smaller and more refined. This pic actually gives a you a decent idea of what is involved with the install:
