basically nailed it. I would feel bad painting a silver bumper knowing you silver guys would die for it - so I'd make a trade. If this goes through, you're first in line!

I'm waiting for grayhound to open and I'm gonna ask.. can't imagine our bumpers weigh over 100lbs.. right? Maybe 60?

jefferson - be careful w the quote. Did you tell them what size box too? They will charge more for a bigger box too, not just the weight.

yah it was an online quote (they're not answering their phone ) but it asks for size of the thing and how much it weighs and where its goin and yadda yadda..

 

if we decide to do this, would be great if I could just give the Greyhound deliverer my bumper in same box. Makes it easy. Do they deliver to door or some local hub? Did you try UPS?

 

it would be local hub. i actually did exactly this for a bumper for my 1965 dodge.

If we were doing the trade in my driveway id say everything, but to save on weight, lets strip the bumpers down. I guessed the bumper weighed 65lbs and was about 6 foot long (just to overshoot it)

My truck isn't with me today, so can't measure bumper dims, but will look online unless you have more exact numbers.

yes, the prices are just shipping. The box is extra. Their boxes are expensive, so I think making one outta cheaper boxes is best.

Do you think the bumper is longer than 70"?
