Fellow Limited owners. Are you ok that it isn’t a TRD OR/Pro?

I am never happy, and today I looked at my beautiful new 22 NSE limited taco and wondered if I should have waited to find an OR or Pro instead. I never will truly take advantage of a TRD but the fact I am missing out kinda has me bummed.
I want to still do some “cool” truck mods like lift and tires. Maybe a pro grille, etc but now wonder if it matters.

I suppose what I am getting at is the limited viewed as the fancy “management guy” trim that is pretty but no real truck guy would take. kinda like how I at least see a king ranch. Never really used for truck stuff just pretty to look at.

Apologies if this rambling sounds unhinged just trying to work through my doubts.

I have an 18 Limited and had the same thoughts. Hood scoop envy is real, but the truck is comfortable and I’m not really into modding trucks anyway. I’ve heard the limited refereed to as the “geezer trim” on Tacoma World. I regret not buying a Pro because it’s looks cool, but I’d never use it to its capabilities anyway.

Sounds like even if you got the TRD pro you would still not be happy.
    I feel for you man.
You set the bar too high in life. Lower the bar and eventually everything will make you happy!

NO! Why did you have to tell me the “geezer trim”
I will be 40 this year and already feel so old.

Most likely. Then I would be upset I spent so much or that a RAV4 Prime would get great mileage. Lol.

Well then this thread probably ain't going to fix anything for you (and that's speaking as a licensed therapist )

Enjoy your truck. I picked my TRD sport over a nearly-identical TRD OR and an insanely priced Pro. Sometimes I wish I'd gotten the OR because of the extra features (but then I would've regretted not having a skewp). Sometimes I wish I'd hunted for a long bed because I can't make a sleep setup in the short bed (but then I would've regretted my truck not fitting in the garage). Sometimes (but very rarely) I wish I'd splurged on the Pro but then I wouldn't have been able to justify the cost of all the fun I've had with the mods over the past six months. At the end of the day... I am having a blast hulking out this truck and love how it looks... and I spend a lot more time thinking about that than I do "what ifs"... recommend you do the same.

Then you'll probably never truly take advantage of the mods you plan to do, either.... but who cares! Now you can justify the cost of the mods because you didn't splurge on a Pro, and you're going to have fun doing it and love the way it looks because you'll have picked it all out yourself. Enjoy your truck! :taco:

Again... enjoy the truck. If you're stoked driving it then whatever some jackass who you're never going to meet has to think while he's sipping his mocha frapaccinno in his Honda Ridgeline at the other corner of the four-way stop has literally no bearing on YOUR happiness with YOUR truck.

    And lastly: Welcome to TW!

Yep you should have bought a loaded off-road. About the same price and you get more. Go trade it in.

I am very happy with my Sport and would get another if I needed a new Tacoma. Be happy with the trim level that fits your wants and needs and don’t look back.

I might be interested in an electric Tacoma down the road. In that case, I hope there is no hood scoop. A hood scoop on an EV would be very strange.

I am okay with a non functional hood scoop on a gas vehicle. Only because in my younger days I had a 77 Trans Am with a non functional shaker hood scoop.

If I get an EV, it will really be time for me to grow up.

I’ve taken my limited and made it what I wanted, it is extremely capable and does everything I have asked of it. Likely and Tacoma model I would have made similar changes to.

Put a lift and tires on your limited. Not sure why you feel this is a waste.

Never settle on vehicle purchases. When totally satisfied with a purchase you are less likely to make future poor financial decisions. Trust me, I speak from a mountain of experience. My last truck purchase I ensured this happened and 5 years later I’m still as happy with it the day I purchased it.

I had a 76 Trans Am , the scoop was functional if you took the plate off. It was a fun car to rat bag on .

I would rock the shit out of a NSE Limited. That is a very nice looking truck. And the Limited will handle non-extreme off-roading just fine.

I was considering a Limited but would have changed out the wheels/tires for something more aggressive.
Nothing wrong with the Limited IMO. Especially the Nightshade Edition.

Please don’t get me wrong. I don’t feel it is a waste. Just second guessing since I couldn’t find the OR one with the packages I wanted.
I think this fully loaded NSE limited is very nice. But the little voice in my head keeps saying I got the “management” trim. Like I said I would never rock crawl or anything but men want manly things even if they don’t need it. :D
