You're not planning on doing anything with the flares you have on now are you? If you just pull the flares off from the outside you'll break the mounting points on the flares themselves, not the clips.

They're all broken off. All my flares are zip tied on.

Better picture during the day time. The look without the flares is growing on me.

OP, what an awesome idea. The 2nd gen trucks look way better without flares. Makes them look more Toyota, less GM. When you take the flares off do the inner plastic fender wells flop around, or do they attach to the fender independent from the flares?

I haven't put the fender liners back on yet. The fender liners and flares do attach through the same holes along the fender but those locations have screws. The screws go into the clips that hold the fender liner. I'm pretty sure the liners will be secure when they go back in. I'll report back once I find a source for the clips and get them back in.

    Glad you like the mod.

His plugs will not work for our application, but thanks for the link.

I'm in the wrong business if he's getting $25 plus shipping for two plugs. Hell, if I were to charge the same we'd be at $500 for a set!

So i pulled off my flares. And got most of the clips out. But I have several orange clips that are stuck. They won't turn right to pull out. They've been on there for awhile now. Anyone got any tips?

Yeah, the don't like to come out, nor do they twist out like the blue ones. I had the fender liners out so I took the pliers and squeezed the prongs on the clips and pushed them out.

I'd also throw in if you try to pull them out, you will bend the fender :anonymous: and the holes will flare outward as well.
