I'll apologize ahead of time, I don't want to read 141 pages. Is this the TSB that makes the truck shift better? I'm about to bring my truck in and want to request it.

I took my truck in this morning for the same reason, shifting at the wrong times. The tech test drove it but couldn’t recreate the problem then invited me to ride with him for a second test drive and I pointed it out to him 200 feet down the road. He checked the ÉCU and did the T-SB 0062-18 (EG1810 I think). I’ll be driving it for a while to see how it behaves.
I also told them about idling iratically while stopped but the tech couldn’t recreate it so he didn’t treat it.
I also told them about the squeaking before coming to a full stop. He couldn’t recreate that either so he didn’t treat it.

Dont take it back. Waste of time.
Unplug Neg cable, turn on/off lights, press horn, etc. Wait 30 min., plug cable back and drive in S only. Don't put in D.
I'm very much enjoying the truck after I reset. Only thing I wish to have is to delay shifting from 3 to 4.

Hey Vlady, So then driving in S will not allow the "learning" to continue?

I was told today by Toyota that there was a new update TSB-0125-18 which groups all previous TSB updates and some newer stuff.

I want to truly thank everybody in this post. Until about a month ago I thought this was how my truck was supposed to run. I've never owned a Toyota or a new vehicle until I got my 2017 SR5 DC 4x4. My truck pretty much has most of the symptoms everybody is reporting on here.

So I took my truck in for service this morning and gave them the list of TSB codes that people have reported here. I brought in the print outs of the PDFs of the TSB's others have shared here and spoke with my service manager. He told me that they will not be able to flash or do the updating unless they were able to replicate the symptoms that I was complaining about. So I pretty much told my service manager that I have read that a lot of people were having the same symptoms that I am having and will not update unless a service Tech gets the symptoms.

This morning I spoke to the service of visor and told him that the symptoms occur more often when I'm in the mountains at high-altitude so if they are not able to replicate the symptoms at the dealership that I would be back the following Saturday to take their Service tech up to the mountains to replicate the symptoms for them. I live in Annapolis Maryland so the closest Mountain Range to me is about two hours. I do not live in the mountains nor have I been up to the mountains but my truck does have most of the symptoms people here on the forum are complaining about.

I recall reading a post somewhere here that somebody did the same thing and told the service adviser at a Toyota dealership that they were gonna take one of their service techs for a two hour trip up into the mountains to replicate the symptoms. A big thanks to who ever came up with that idea as it worked I think. What I told my service of visor that he chuckled and laughed at me and said are you serious. I said yes I paid $30,000 for a truck that is not running correctly and I knew there was issues with the TSB and I want it fixed so if they can't replicate I will replicate it for them. So a tip to anybody that is trying to get the TSB update and Toyota refuses to do it. Tell them that you will take their tech up to the mountains to replicate it for them. They don't want you to tie up one of their service techs for four hours to replicate the problem when Toyota knows there is a problem with the TSB and that there is a update for a fix.

Upon picking my truck up I was talking to the service manager and he said there was a newer TSB update then the ones I told him about. He said one of his newer techs missed the newer update. I then asked how did that happen? He said the tech had already had the previous files. As the tech was working on the AC recall another tech over heard what was going on that has a 2017 Tacoma said that there was a newer TSB update then the ones I told them about. If not for a another Tacoma owner in the their shop they would of just did the TSB's that I told them about. A big thanks to who ever you are that caught this. If your on here hit me up as they would'nt tell me your name and said you were gone for the day. I owe you a beer and dinner.

Leaving the dealership I have noticed a difference in the get up and got/ horse power, or maybe its just me. Also the breaking jerkyness feeling you get when you apply the brakes and the sluggishness with the exhilaration and gear shifting. Also the 1 to 2 second delay / Boggness when you Punch the excelerator is gone. Again thank you all for the help and all the info!!!! Chuck

Putting in S disables AI-shift, aka "learning".
I did like the ride after TSB, but 1K later the throttle went numb, got downshift clunk back and the truck felt awkward driving in bumper to bumper traffic.
    Try it.
FYI,1st 100 miles or so are going to be rough

What I've noticed in reading through this thread is that us with 2016's are seeing the biggest benefit from the latest TSB's, 2017's seem to be a mixed bag, but most seeing a benefit and 2018's with little to no benefit which tells me Toyota has slowly been working out the bugs in this tune and the TSB update is close to what's in the 2018's originally. Just my observation anyway.

I had this done on my 18' with little to no noticeable difference. I am bringing it back in next week and will ask them address it again.

Just had mine done today. Checked Calibration ID #'s so I figured I would share

Keep in mind mine is a 2018 build date 2/18

    Before TSB 0062-18 = A6000

    20181113_071139.jpg
    After = A6100

    Hello all,
I have a 2016 SR5 4X4. I've had many of the same issues as others. Shifting has been rough at times. Mainly, the truck seems to search for gears and be gutless until hammering on the gas, which is delayed then very pronounced. I went to the dealership yesterday and presented them with the current TSB-0062-18. My invoice states, "24602 up to date ecu & check & reflash with update tsb 00077-16".
Am I correct that the dealership updated my ECU with one of the earliest TSBs? Truck does respond a little better, but not great as others have mentioned with the 0062-18 version.
