Mighty Taco288, I found a PDF of TSB 0077-16, haven't found 0062-18 yet, but according to that SB after the install the tech is supposed to put the Authorized Modification plate under the hood next to the engine ID plate. and post the new cal ID on the placard. see attached pic. Im going to see about getting this done on my 19 Off Road soon.

    You liking it?

Either a Ram Rebel or Laramie is high on my list for a possible next vehicle.

For what it's worth, I did the TSB last month and am very pleased. No more stumble, and power and acceleration seem to be smoother and more stable. Gas mileage took a hit, but it's like a totally different truck.

I checked my vin and that recall does not apply to my model ! Looks like I literally (DODGED) a bullet on that one. I guess I am just a (REBEL) LMAO . Thanks for the positive wishes lol . But in all seriousness I still have unfinished business with the Tacoma. When the Taco team puts in a power adjustable driver seat (so my better half can adjust it and drive when needed), puts in android auto and apple car play(so I can use and enjoy my infotainment system) and puts in a new engnine/transmission option( so I do not get ran over when trying to accelerate in traffic) I would like to give the Tacoma another shot. Maybe 4th gen in about 6 to 8 years. But for now I seriously love the Rebel and am glad I swapped it in .

So far I really like the rebel. Still getting used to the size difference but I really dig the way it drives.

I had my dealer do the TSB 125-18 today and I think it has made a nice improvement over the stock tune. Everyone should do this the next time a trip to the dealership is needed.

I told them like the others did previously on this forum that it hunts for gears, slips, etc. etc... Thanks for your all’s experience and posting.

Side note, my dealership service department scratched my drivers side door today while doing this update. Previously I had them install my SCS wheels on my stock tires and they nicked my new wheels. They ended up buyin me a new one. I’ve never owned a Toyota before this 17 Tacoma, are all the service departments so careless?

Rule 1: never have toyota dealerships touch your wheels or tires if you care about them at least.

The only thing i trust them do is Oil change and most people on the forum dont even like that...

After years of the government convincing us that our children should be IT Nerds, coders, or human resource marketing analysts, there’s actuallly a huge shortage of qualified, skilled auto mechanics. A whole generation of mechanics is missing. The older guys with the skills are enjoying fat paycheques, good working conditions, and their pick of jobs, but there just isn’t enough of them. Your average dealership is now staffed by kids who were working at Subway last week.

The older guys are good at scamming single moms and old ladys on brake jobs and cabin filters..

Took my 2018 Tacoma with auto trans and 2.7 motor to The Newnan Toyota Dealer in GA ,would not do the tsb for me. My truck hunts for gears and when using cruise control it will down shift when it doesn’t need too. It also will down shift but will not up shift once i top the hill and go down the hill it will not up shift.

I saw that the tsb is for the v 6 trucks. But don’t the 4 and v6 trucks have the same trans? Looks like I have the same problems.

Tsb is technically for motor tune, not officially any transmission tune changes
