Sure would be nice to get a photo of this squared to the camera and with a ruler beside the sticker, just saying.

Ask and ye shall receive. Good as it gets doing it one handed. IMG_20180810_183637951_HDR-800x450.jpg IMG_20180810_183735971-800x450.jpg. Sticker is a little smaller than the Emissions Sticker.

I didn’t get the TSB update, but after applying a printed copy of this sticker I immediately noticed a huge difference. Holding gears now like it should. Thanks!

I didn't get the sticker but did apply the TSB and the OVTune flash, and got a huge difference for the good in engine performance, shifting, and gas mileage

Just curious-- you guys having all these problems, did you ever notice that some of the problems weren't as severe when you had, say 400lbs in the truck bed?

I'm still driving a 2nd gen, and I have a surge around 30-40 mph when accelerating where it almost feels like a dead pedal for a second, then surges and the rpm's go way up.

I notice it less when under load. At least, I've convinced myself that this is the case. Clearly the problems in this thread are real. I'm not arguing there. But wondering if this could be some kind of scenerio where they tried to bring the 2nd gen throttle mapping to a new engine and it just didn't work out so well for them.

I notice all the same symptoms in my 2nd gen that you guys describe, but I feel like they're just amplified x1000 in the 3rd gen.

    Any thoughts?

I took my 17 DCSB OR today, service adviser was kind enough to take my truck in with out even asking questions.. however, they only did the 58-18 and reset ECT memory, and test drove it before giving it back to me. He advised me that the transmission is electronically controlled, and that stores learned values for shift timing.. Told me to drive the truck for a few miles, and that if i wasn't happy to bring it back to do the TSB 62-18...
I drove off the dealer lot to work, but not enough miles to really tell the difference.. so will drive it more and see what happens.

I thought the two TSB's you mentioned actually accomplish the same thing. ??

Not sure why they would not do the latest TSB if they were gonna do it . Doesn't make sense to possibly do it twice.

My understanding is that the 62-18 is a the updated TSB that includes the 2018 models.. But i am not 100% if there is any difference between the two? sorry,
I will drive my truck more and if i don't see/feel any difference i will take it back to the TSB 62-18 done, and hope this one will fix the issues..

Download the OBD Fusion app if you have an iPhone. If not you can try the Torque app for Android. They both connect to Carista and you can run diagnostics, including reading the IDs from your ECU calibration

Haven’t read everything in this thread, but just wanted to say that as someone that was happy with the truck before the flash, this has made a world of difference. The 1-2 shift is imperceptible, and holding speed on the freeway requires way less right foot effort. Definitely worth hassling your favorite service advisor to get this done.

Big ones are King suspension, SSO bumper w/winch, Pelfreybuilt sliders.
I feel like this should be a sticky. Just like the AC drain mod. Good for all 3rd gen Tacoma folks from the sound of it.
