Why didn't you say you need to replicate the problem a few more times. Not safe? How do you think I feel every day?
There are F1 drivers, NASCAR drivers and taco drivers. All in its own class.

So i brought my truck into the dealership here after speaking to the service dept. They plugged the laptop on the truck, and it would not take the 5133 update listed in the canadian TSB. Said it didn't need it/qualify.

However the service dept did find T-TCI-4419 which was a "shift feeing enhancement" from july 26 2016 and applied it. And i have noticed a difference with that. So thats good...

Not sure why the new TSB wouldn't apply to my taco, the VDS on both TSB's are the same...

You’re the man. Thanks for the tip. Confirmed that I did receive 0062-18 ECU calibration even though service advisor put 0077-16 in his notes. Was about to go strangle him.

I have noticed almost a 1mpg increase. I like to get up to the speed limit quickly and I was using the SSP before was averaging 16mph city driving. Now I’m getting a little over 17. Trucks that shift well will be more efficient.

Thought my 18 in this weekend to get the tsb done. Service tech said he tried putting it on my truck but could t get past a certain point with the computer because a cert number or something for my truck wasn’t an option for him to pick. Not sure if he was jerking me around or not but honestly my truck doesn’t have shifting problems anyways. Bought it in April 2018.

That’s the same mess they told me. They said they followed steps on TSB and found vehicle to have the most current software. I’m like what !!!

Same Dealer ? Maybe we should add a list of Dealers that do the TSB without problems. Maybe a new Thread ?

Had the TSP done yesterday at Toyota of Murfreesboro TN. Dealership was great as usual.

I do think there is an improvement with this TSB so I am really overall happy. It’s not night and day but it is a step in the right direction.

I suggested that several pages back. I think it would help if we limit conversation to only dealership info in a clean thread.

Maybe a master list would be better if that is possible.

He was very clear when we were done talking about how unsafe I feel the truck is. He wasn't blowing me off, but he seemed nonchalant about it until the ride along. Then he seemed a lot more adamant about getting on the issue. I will see what tomorrow brings when they call back.

The dealership I am going through is a great dealership and they seemed to be trying to get the issue resolved so I believe them when they are saying they are having issues with the link up of their scan tools. I just hope I see the improvements in my Taco that everyone is seeing in theirs after the updates.

I had a problem at NJ dealer and a 2nd dealer was not supportive at first. I am going to call Toyota Corporate HQ tomorrow to inform that dealer service centers are giving push-back on covering this important TSB !!!

Same here. I had it done Friday and it's like driving a completely different truck for me. Driving my truck is quite pleasant now!

I had purchased the OV tune kit, but never got the tune. I wanted to wait and see what Toyota had planned. I'm happy enough to not do the tune and sell the kit. I'm so happy with it

Another observation: I had the bad stumble while running the K&N intake system. Before the TSB, I re-installed the stock air cleaner system so the dealer couldn’t blame the K&N. Stock air cleaner did not stumble as bad. I have the new tune and the K&N back in without any stumble!

Just got this done this morning!

Dealership was cool, I brought my own copies of 0062-18 and 0058-18.
The service advisor didn’t need them, but thanked me, because it saved him from looking it up on the internet. He made copies of mine.

First impression after 5 mile drive home with varying speed limits:

Mostly gonna mirror what others have to say.
Smooth! Much better shifting. It always seems to be in the right gear. Way less right pedal input needed to drive in traffic, with varying speeds. Way less right pedal input in general, really. Don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t suddenly feel like a faster truck, but I feel like I can un-learn all the “trying to figure out this truck’s power band” stuff. Just get in, and drive it like anything else. In summary, it just feels right!
Do not hesitate to have this update performed!
I was not one of the people who were so unhappy with the performance, that I regretted the A/T, but I am quite pleased with how much better it drives.
