Nope. Nothing. Just "ECU reprogrammed". Before I signed their paperwork I had written 0058-18 under my signature.

Bizarre. This is just me but I would go back to the dealer an demand updated paperwork that shows what work was done to the truck.

How do you find the ECU version in the torque app?

Quite the opposite in fact. You do understand what a placebo is, right?

In a month once the computer “relearns” everyone’s driving habits, they’ll all be bitching and complaining again.

There's a giant thread on the rear diff howl in these trucks. These T-SBs are for an ECU update.

Just make an appointment and mention ANY of the issues that are related to one of the multiple T-SBs that are resolved with an ECU update. No matter the T-SB referenced, if the ECU software is updated you will receive the most recently published calibration.

I haven't gotten the app yet to be able to answer you. There is a thread on here somewhere for the app though.

The app and a tablet holder are going to be my next mods.

Initially made my 5k appt at concord Toyota and advisor says no problem with the update. Showed up yesterday and they said they were unable to replicate the problem and didn’t do it Guess I’ll be calling around to other places

Yep, thanks. I've perused that thread. Just wondered if, by chance, changing engine rpm's at different places in the power band (tsb) would alleviate or reduce the howl.

Some guys seem to think it is the holes in the lower control arms. They put plugs in and it stops. I bought plugs but haven't done it yet. Mine comes and goes. For months it wasn't doing it, then the temps changed, driving around in rain, wet, cold, and then it was again. Now it isn't. Strange.

Didn't change mine at all. Although mine actually got louder after I had one of the howl T-SB's performed .

Isn't that only on the '16s? I believe '17+ they plugged them from factory. Might be wrong.

For me the plugs fixed the low speed (< 30 mph) noise, which was more prevalent on windy days. I purchased the plugs listed in the TSB and haven’t heard the noise since.

I have my truck at the dealership for the ECM flash and to fix the rear diff howl. That noise is most noticeable between 50-70 mph. They didn’t seem to know how to recreate or what to listen for, so I suspect I’ll need to stop in to show the techs how to cause it.
