Ford will re-engineer things that don't need re-engineering. Of the minor shortcomings complained about Toyotas, why would Ford put the turn signal indicators in the bottom of the gauge cluster and have the turn signal stalk activate different from every one before or since from other mfgs. Just saying. Regardless the infinite individuality afforded by trim pkgs, IMO i couldn't drive something I would MF overtime i interacted with it.

I had same thing happen but turns out the paperwork showed old TSB but actually the newest was performed. The tech said the system only uses the latest version of software and the correct one was applied. My service advisor just typed in the old one.

Update: 4 hours later and a lot of eye twitches later (read, I have no patience) I had the TSB done, although they called it TSB0058-18 (same reflash). I also had the front side window moldings replaced (goodbye cross wind noises). The truck finally drives like it should have from day 1. Very noticeable difference for me. I’m happy. If you haven’t had this done just get it done.

Can you tell if it was the outter hard black piece around the window visible from outside the truck or was it the softer flexible EPDM inner seal?

Inside. But, I think they were supposed to have done the outside. Honestly, I’m just happy to be out of there. It’s clear that the service advisor did not communicate well (read, at all) with the tech and that the tech did not read the TSBs that I printed out and carefully placed in the seat for him. 3 hours in I was finally able to get him to actually “double check” to make sure I had the ECU reflash. I didn’t. I knew that. But, I finally got it. Now I’ll worry about the window seal for the outside. But, overall I’m happy because my truck drives the way it should. My whine is mostly better too. But, I’m going to go ahead and get a couple more repair attempts just to have in my hip pocket in case things go south.

Edit: You can do most of the work for them by spoon feeding what is wrong to them and they still may or may not do the work. When they do the work they may or may not do it right.

Edit 2: Replacement of the inside seal was correct.

I would add that the dealer reminded me of the AC fan recall. I’ll add that to the list.

FWIW, I didn’t get a sticker either. But, for added piece of mind the tech did show me the update. I still want my sticker. @RobP62 any sticker suggestions? LOL

Just got it done and no more stumble or hunting. True test will be when I go on a road trip in 2 weeks which involves a steep 6% grade, and might sell my shift sense pro if it does well enough.

Had my 2017 done today along with the recall on the blower fan. Noticible difference in the 12 mile run home from the dealer. Key word for the dealer to write it up was “stumble”. Thanks for all the info folks.

Who here has put the most miles on this TSB? Just wondering if this is just going to revert back after the learning period

The ECM will not revert. This is a permanent software update for the controller. I have about 1200 miles on the new calibration and have no issues.
