This is how I did it. Professional subscription and a Tactrix cable. The CUW files that everyone else is using here also came from someone who had a pro subscription.

Brought my 2017 trd sport to the dealer for the one year oil change this morning I told the service advisor I wanted the new ecu update and he said that it wasn’t available, That if I needed one it would pop up in the notes and he showed me the screen and said it could just be for certain models. Is he full of shit or should I go to another dealer?

Make sure the adviser understands that this is not a "recall/safety recall".
Happened to me at the place of purchase; was told that my truck is not coming up in the "system".
Check your VIN against VIN's outlined in TSB. If the match, tell them the you have experience that in such and such conditions, such and such road, etc..

Update to my TSB updates. The truck is driving so much better, but I figured I'd have to try what drove me to the dealer in the first place.
I am post TSB 58 and 62 updates. Before the update, was the gear hunting, and from a dead stop on a hill I got a big dead spot on throttle before it caught. So now>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The truck is driving so much better, but I figured I'd have to try what drove me to the dealer in the first place. Starting from a dead stop on a steep hill. I'm getting some horrific noise like a fast creaking / drive shaft type thing. This is only when giving throttle on a steep hill from a dead stop. I'll be calling dealer tomorrow and update if / when I find out something.

Great analogy-- like an old car with a failing transmission. It's like an old 1984 Chevy Cavalier with 130k miles on it and the trans is starting to go out.

I agree- while the TSB is an improvement, I've still got problems. Mostly clunking in the lower gears. And it still shifts into 4th way to fast on 0-40mph acceleration. Get to 30-35mph and all of the sudden it's like a dead pedal and acceleration feels like it stops.

Several things. While it keeps the lower part of the box in place, the top part is taller, which increases air volume, and better aligns the intake tube to the throttle body, which decreases turbulence. The resonance chamber is also smaller, resulting in increased airflow and quicker throttle response. Aside from this TSB, the TRD intake was the best upgrade for me in terms of performance and driveability.

This is one of those things where I wonder... if it's that simple and that much better, why didn't they simply design it that way in the first place.

when i had mine done i had called to make an appt. told them on the phone that along with the 10k service that it also needed the tsb. gave them the tsb number and she put it on my work order. when i dropped it off i printed the tsb out and brought it with me.. handed it to the service adviser. she looked it up right then and there on her computer. popped right up for her.. i had told her that its supposed to be for high altitude and she said yes i see where it says that.. i said i am in upstate ny a lot (wilmington) and the summit or whiteface is 4300 or so feet and i feel the stumble there. she said ok and put the tsb with my paperwork.. tech did it with no problem.

Show up on their busiest day, typically a Saturday mid morning. Tell them sure test it but the issue happens in the morning when the truck is cold as I'm going to work so if you want to keep it until Monday I need a loaner.

They will likely take the vehicle and perform the update. If they can't because they are truly busy, have them write you up. When you go back to the dealer a few days later, they'll just see that they wrote that you came in for an update and perform it. This happened to a coworker of mine.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Yep that’s all it does....is make noise!
Anyone else wanna poke?!? I think I will start up a thread on my who has wasted money today! Got the bitch for free and stuck it on there. Nuff said, I would not recommend it unless you have money to waste.
