If you look at the additive package of each oil you will see that Supertech oil from walmart is better than even mobil one. I will provide lab test results below for proof, and yes they are done by an independent lab. All in 5w-30 full synthetic.

Hi, new to the fourm. I have a 06 with 136,000 on it and have only changed my oil 12 times since I bought it new.

I worked on jet fighters when I was in the Marines and discovered all about synthetic oils. When I bought my first car and wanted a 100% synthetic oil to make my engine last as long as it could. I researched everything I could find on the subject and found AMSOIL lubricants.

No tricks here, I use AMSOIL premium synthetic libricants exclusively in all my vehicles. If you would like to know more PM me, I'm not sure how this forum works when dealers recommend products to members.

To each their own, just wanted to put it out there. BTW AMSOIL was the first 100% synthetic to be API certified in 1972 and prices are competive with other popular synthetic oils.

You should look up your oil on this site, it's a independent site on all the oils out there. http://www.pqiamerica.com

AMSOIL $7.50/quart guaranteed for 5,000 miles with written warranty. We also offer a 10,000 and 25,000/1 year oils under normal operating conditions with the same warranty, you can find all of this info on our website.

Mobil1's 15,000 mile oil is the only other group 4 true synthetic out there. Al the other synthetics out there are group 3 oils (actually synthetic blends) with beefed up additives packages. The oil companies won a lawsuit back in 1990 that allows them to claim to be synthetic because they add a carbon atom to their base fossil oils.

Redline, Amsoil and Motul are Group IV + and I know Redline is a Group V polyol ester base

I’d be interested in Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0W20 and 5W20 results. Found some 5W20 for $20/5qts after rebate I’m going to run in the car.

Group IV base oils are polyalphaolefins (PAO's), these synthetic base oils are made through a process called synthesizing. They have a much broader temperature range and are great for use in extreme cold conditions and high heat applications.

Group V base oils are classified as all other base oils, including silicone, phosphate ester, polyalkylene glycol (PAG), polyolester, biolubes, etc. These base oils are at times mixed with other base stocks to enhance the oil’s properties.

Esters are common Group V base oils used in different lubricant formulations to improve the properties of the existing base oil. Ester oils can take more abuse at higher temperatures and will provide superior detergency compared to a PAO's, but do not have the broad range of the Group IV's for cold weather applications.

I had a mechanic friend tell me that Pennzoil tend to sludge in the engine however, sludge is caused in part from air ingestion into the oil while the engine runs. That being said, some engines naturally cause excessive sludging regardless of the lubricant used.
We have a AMSOIL garage link on out website that gives you all your vehicle lubricants info. You can look up you vehicle and It will tell you if we have identified sludging problem or not.

If you don't over fill a 1GR-FE aeration is not a problem. If you over fill a 1GR-FE you will have major problems!!!! When you over fill these engines, the rods come in contact with the oil Sitting in the oil pan causing it to "froth" and loads the oil with air bubbles, thinning it out. It turns to what is essentially a "froth". Take a bottle of cooking oil, shake it up and see what it does to the oil. Same principle. Not only does that kill the lubrication properties, but it causes sludge build up because the aerated oil will sludge up when exposed to heatEd surfaces. This is probably what your friend was talking about.

Atleast this one backs up what some posters on here have been saying for years . That you are silly to pay up for oil just because of brand. Supertech is the cheapest and one of the strongest test wise, yet you still have clowns that pitch overpriced amsoil or pennzoil which is 4 times the price.

To each their own, I never realized how little I knew about lubricants until I got into the lubricant industry. I'm not selling anything just providing an informed opinion. AMSOIL has over 40 years of proven performance. All the data you need is available on our website, including our oil analysis program and fleet studies.
