Since I was in there anyway, also did the 400-watt-anytime mod. I put the light switch on the console next to the e-brake and below my rear bumper light switch. Didn't wire those up to the reverse circuit because they are ultra "for off road use only" bright and it would piss off anyone behind me at night when I backed up lol.

Got the ditch lights from @memario1214 during the BF sale. They sent the wrong harness but he sorted it out quickly and professionally, offering installation help along the way, and they replaced the wrong harness with the correct one fast. In related news I happen to have a brand new unused ditch light harness for sale...

The ditch lights have two modes: one is a more dim amber and the other is an OMGWTFBBQBRIGHT!!1!!!!11!!!!! white.

I think you mean driving? Ditch lights are pointed at the ditch.

Were you the one in his BF deals thread that mentioned having higher-than-normal hood struts? If so, how close do the lights/wires get to contacting the windshield when the hood is raised?

And those lights look sick. Glad I got the same.

Using the correct harness, when the hood is fully raised the wires get bunched behind the light and the plastic molded plug sticking out of the back pushes against the wires. I was worried until I saw that the wires weren't being pinched, just pressed against. It's fine. I'll tell service folks (if there ever are any) to just use the hood latch, which will keep the hood a bit lower.

EDIT: actually, I'll simply unplug the lights before dropping off for any service I can't (or won't) do.

    He takes ditches head on.
My compliments on a very clean switch install. This is very timely and much appreciated as I consider how (and where) I will be mounting 6-8 auxillary switches for lights, onboard air, and a few other accessories. Very clean. Well done.

true, but I don't mind spending money on something that makes my life easier and will just flat out work. That's also why I continue to buy from Toyota

this doesn't solve the issue with where to mount 6-8 switches in the cab though

Meso switch panels. Left side, overhead console. They just opened up some printing back up. I wouldn’t bother with the center one just pull the buttons you don’t use, qi charger, cigarette lighter move to the back. Double switches help too.

Valid. I plan to 3d print a frame that covers the qi charger area and put my switches there. Won't look super OEM but it will be practical and custom.

But Meso switch panels are much more accessible and professional. Definitely worth going that route if you don't want to make your own solution.

Well, if they happen to have them in stock and you are one of the first dozen to order. Else they are never in stock. Also make sure you order the correct one because they don't respond to RMA requests and support is non-existent. YMMV

the meso left side panel is great, thats what i have my switchpro mounted in. the overhead seems more trouble than its worth from what ive seen in threads here.

the qi charger is so worthless. i don't blame you for using that space. ive considered pulling that switch and putting in a blank just so i dont have to look at it, lol

That's actually a really great place to put the buttons. Easily accessible. Can't go wrong with more lights btw. Especially if you wheel more than once a month.
