Honestly that is what I am hoping for. If that's true that if the officer dosent show up, im hoping it does go away completely. I don't want my insurance to spike especially since I'm 19 and male.

So lucky. I'm hoping my ticket wont be too bad. I told my dad im just gonna say guilty and take traffic school. So it shouldnt be too bad. I might ask my friends dad, who is a judge, and say what I can do. If it was a city police they wouldn't have given me a ticket since I know almost half the people on the weekend shifts and weekdays. Including the new Chief of police. But hey at least now I know the CHP can pull people over on streets :/

Poll itself is almost meaningless because it's too vague.

Somebody who has been driving for 50 years may have more tickets than somebody who has been driving for 2 months.

With that, I've been driving since about 1985. I've been pulled over more times than I could probably remember. Actual ticket wise I would guess about 8. More than half were due to motorcycle riding, not driving.

Also do we count parking tickets? Fix it tickets?

I will think about it and try to remember as many times as I can and how many times I actually got ticketed. I haven't been issued a moving violation ticket since 2001 but have been stopped 4 times off the top of my head.

Ok think I recalled most of them.

Right now I'm at 9 convictions in my 27 years worth of driving/riding motorcycles for moving violations, that I can recall. One of these was for not wearing a seatbelt, which I later found out went on my record, way back when, so I guess it counts as a moving violation. I'm fairly sure I have easily been pulled over more than 9 times and not ticketed, like maybe 12 or so.

    3) window tint, reckless driving, careless operation, turn signals, faulty equipment, inspection stickers, speeding(multiple times), failure to dim lights (using off road lamps on the back highways), exhibition of acceleration (spinning tires)....shit, I can't remember all of them

I was in a car accident, my fault. Cop had to give me a ticket because I guess I did something wrong and the result was an accident.
I knew the stenographer (not sure if I spelled it right) the person who records what people say in court on the little type writer. She told me she knows the officer who gave me the ticket and told him to reduce it if he could.
Then my friend told me the officer lost his job due to filming his own child pornography so now I could plead no contest to the ticket and get out of paying any fees or fines.
Judge didn't like that said we would reschedule to get the officer in court. We both knew that was impossible, he was just being a dick.
Go the the next appearance, I told the judge I want the officer who wrote the ticket to prove I did anything wrong.
    Threw it out!
Poor officer, heard he was a nice guy.

i got a ton of tickets when i was younger, but there was one that was total bullshit...
my first car was a 1979 oldsmobile delta 88. this thing was about 19 feet long and the length of the hood and to the front bumber was about 8-9 feet.
i was driving in a residential area and i stopped at a stop sign, waited for the opposing traffic to go, and then i went. a cop pulled me over for "failing to stop at the limit line." essentially, my bumper was a foot or so past the white line at the stop sign.
now there were many tickets that i fully deserved, but this one was total bullshit.

ive had 1 in the taco (running a red light) and 1 as a passenger in a ranger (seatbelt)

the redlight one i can explain i was behind this guy in the left turning lane and the guy was in the middle of the intersection and i was right behind him and my rear tires were past the white line and the light changed and he went and i thought because i was so far out i should go too, well the cop right behind me thought differently.:( and 75 dollars later and 4 points i was free to drive again)

Got one when I was 15 (no license or learners)... Get ready for good story...

A friend of mine was spending the night at my house and we got bored. We decided to take my moms car (2003 Toyota Highlander) out for a joy ride about 3 am. Having a great time screwing around. Get on a straight stretch of road and decide to floor it. Hit and pin it at the limiter (120mph) and just cruising down the road speed limit was 45. I have the high beams on and I see the headlight reflectors of a car on the side of the road with it's nose pointed towards the street. Start to slow down and I knew I was screwed.

Didn't even wait for the cop to pull out, just pulled myself over and waited to get reamed. Lady cop walks up on the driver side and male on the passenger. Lady asks me, not even pissed, how old a you? (I was like 4 ft tall and sitting on a phonebook). I answer politely. The cops get us out of the car and handcuffs us together back to back (definitely not SOP). Another squad car rolls up and takes my friend home. I get put in the patrol car, front seat! Got to watch her play with her nifty computer. Cop drove me home and asked my mom if she wanted to press charges for grand theft auto (scared the shit out of me). My mom thinks for a second and says yes!!! THAT BITCH!

I start crying and the cop puts me back in the squad car. This time in the back seat. I've watched cops so I knew this was bad. Then goes back and continues talking to my mom. So I go to the station and get put in my own holding cell. Can't sleep at all the rest of the night I'm so scared. Cop comes back the next day around noon in civilian clothes and drives me home in her own car. I'm thinking this is weird. Turns out my mom (a nurse practitioner) has this cop as one of her patients and the cop recognized me from photos on my mother's desk at work. The cop called my mom when she was running the car's plates and told her the situation. They had planned the whole thing ahead of time. The cop and my mother have since become great friends and they still get on my case about it till this day.

I got one parking ticket at the USC campus years ago and one speeding ticket on my way to Vegas. Trooper was cool though cause I was going 85 in a 70 and he wrote me for 70 so it wouldnt go on my record.

I've gotten 2 speeding tickets first was a 60 in 45 $180 4 points dropped to $45 2 points second I got about a week ago and it was 67 in a 45 $133 and 4 points hopefully it will be dropped to minimum. 2 seat belt tickets $25 each no points. One seat belt warning. I've been pulled many times for reported reckless driving/speeding etc. but the leo's didn't see it so they can't ticket me just file the complaint and find me and pull me to tell me about it and usually run my info. All of my tickets were given to me by SC Highway Patrol. I've only had two bad experience with an leo and it was a bs seat belt that he took way out of proportion, and a ticket for my music being too loud when I was driving my truck home that day that I got it. It got dropped completely when they found out that I am hearing impaired and that I have to have it louder than the average person.

I've had several. The most bs one yet came 2 weeks ago in Memphis. 47 in a 40. I was pulling a 16 foot trailer loaded down and following another car. Of course I was the one to get pulled over though

    ive had 8+ for sure

best story to date in one night i received 7 tickets with in an hour of each other

    2001 Ford Lightning ......

ticket 1 - fix it ticket Illegal Front Tint
    ticket 2 - speeding 175 in a 110 zone
    ticket 3 - driving recklessly
ticket 4 - driving with out care and undue attention
    ticket 5 - distracted driving
ticket 6 - driving with out a license on hand
ticket 7 - driving with out insurance on hand

lesson of the story 48 hours in a holding cell 5000 ticket, loss of license for 30 days, truck impounded for 30 days, 100 per day holding fee + original 500 tow bill ...... do the math 3500 in fees, and a 350 surcharge from my insurance company at the time, as well a letter stating my insuance had at that point been terminated

total costs for that evening were

8850+ 30 days of lost labor .... at 250 per day

    soooo 8850 + 7500 = 16350 for one hell of an evening

would i do it again ummmm..... hell yah id race that street bike and beat it again

    another good one

stunting, catwalked past an officer doing under the speed limit :D, got myself a photo and yet another incident of being cuffed and in the back of the cop car apparently i only paid 80% of the fee so there was a warrant out for my arrest

lessons learned ummmmm yah and no

    so I LIKE DR.PEPPER
