I have had my VVME HIDs and Fogs for about a year now and they work great, but tonight it was a monsoon here in Vegas and they dominated in the down pour, hats off to them for making a cheap HID kit that works very well.

I also installed a set of Bilstein 5100s front and rear. I set the fronts to 0 and installed a fatbobs garage polyurethane spring isolator with them. This gave me about 1 inch of lift. I also installed a 3/8 inch top plate spacer on the driver side to compensate for the taco lean.

The truck soaks up every little bump and big ones as well. Expansion joints are sooooo smooth and big bumps it take slow and smooth. I am so happy I went with these and used the isolator as well, it provides for the perfect preload on the coil to give a great ride and a perfect lift. I am sitting dead level at all 4 corners and it rides fantastic.

I will take pics tomorrow when it isn't raining. Oh yeah I also got a new set of pro comp 7089 installed as well.

LOL, well I kinda like it since it almost never rains here in Vegas. It rains so little that people look forward to it, its funny. I think it is going to rain tomorrow though as well. Ill take some pics regardless.

    These are spring isolators http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...ly-got-my-truck-setup-perfectly-new-post.html
they give approx 1 inch of lift. I did not set the billies higher because I did not want a full 1.75 inches of lift from preloading my spring. I wanted to maintain a smoother ride. My truck seems to net more lift from lifts than most other tacomas so I really got like 1.6-1.75 inches from just the isolator, but it is only supposed to give 1 inch of lift.
I will take pics today so you guys can see specifically, but the ride is amazing and smooth as butter, it took me a year screwing with my truck and I finally found a great ride.
The OME setup I had with 885s and OME struts was too stiff, then I put on Icons and they were too stiff, then eibachs and they were a alright but not soft enough, and now the setup I have is perfect no harsh at all and is able to soak up everything.

Isn't it 1/4" top plate spacer to fix the taco lean? why did you pick 3/8's? Just wondering...

The above link takes you back to this thread.

How difficult is it to install "spring isolators"? Do you have to compress the spring?

Because my truck leaned BAD. It actually still sits lower on the driver side by about 1/8 inch even with the bigger spacer. I thought it might be because the I switched up the front coils, but from the research I have done on here both the left and right coil are the same regards of the color markings.

Sorry it took so long to reply, but they are 285/70/17 tires. That is why they look so big, lol.

    In my sig
Hardest part is getting the strut assembly off the truck. Yes, you do need a spring compressor.
