The 4runner approach and departure is better then the Taco. Camping wise...it's a personal preference. You want bed or not a bed. I love 4runner more then the Tacoma and it is the daily. I don't have much of a need for a truck now since I moved from the field to project management. Overall the 4Runner feels and drives better then my taco by a big margin imo.

VVT by far. Taco is a slug off the line.

Question for you about the King rear shocks you have with those Dobinson coils, are they the standard off the shelf extended Kings or are they the increased 2-3 lift versions?

It's the extended lift type up to 2" mainly for my kdss not over extended but now I have the kdss spacers so I'm not worried even with 3" lift.

I got one in White on Sunday as a Father's Day present from my wife. Selling my 06 Tacoma Pre-Runner TRD. Will most likely post on TW this weekend. (92131)

every time I see a pic of yours or some of the other 5th gens in here, it makes me want to look harder for the right deal for me to get one of these.

I test drove a '19 TRD OR at a local used car lot. During the test drive, it took constant correction to make it go straight-ish plus a ton of rattles and squeaks. Not a typical 4runner, that was for sure. I got on a gravel road and tried the locker, it only engaged once during 5 attempts. After all of that, I just walked away. ( besides the $37K price tag"

So I couldn't wait any longer and ended up getting this over the Lexus GX550. Even the dealer didn't know when my will arrive. I'll probably look at it again in 3-4 yrs...hopefully most of the bugs are found :fingerscrossed:

My new daily... 2024 BMW X3 M40i in mineral white metallic and black vanaseca leather interior :D

    Specs: 3.0L Inline-6 turbocharged, X-drive (aka AWD) 382 HP, 369 ft-lbs torque, 8-spd auto

Same engine and transmission as the new Toyota Supra

0-60 4.1 second and 12.8 sec in 1/4 mile

Mileage: 21 city, 26 hwy. I got 28 mpg on 100 mile round trip.

Last it is $10k cheaper then the GX

P.S. 4runner is staying but the Taco is going away :crapstorm:

Thanks guys. It wasn't a overnight decision. I spent about 1-2 years doing the research and waiting another year for the GX. Even til today the dealer has no idea when will my GX will ever show up. They are at the mercy of Toyota.
