Finally made my sub box for my '15 access cab. It isn't anything special, but it was a nice way for me to have a single 10 and an amp in such a limited space. Now that it is in, i'll probably take time to make a new one later that is more appealing to look at, but for now this works.

Total investment into my system is $400 (for wiring, sub, amp, door speakers, loc's and harnesses). Not too shabby and it sounds good.

I have the amp ch 1 & 2 bridged to left door and ch 3 & 4 bridged to right door and ch 5 to the sub. Sounds amazing for what it is.

Door speakers are Kenwood KFC-P709Ps 6.5" components. I paired these with a set of Scosche SAT69 speaker adapters to take the 6x9 to 6.5". This door kit is made for a 4 runner, but they worked without any issues or modifications in my tacoma

Subwoofer is a PowerBass S-1004D. Amazing sub for only $55. Sounds great and no need for more than 1 in a access cab

Amp is a Rockford Fosgate R600X5. This was the 3rd amp I got 'cause I was trying to be cheap. First amp was a SSL amp, but went into protection when the bass hit even though the manufacture claimed it was a 2 ohm stable amp. Then I purchased a PowerBass 5 ch amp, but that overheated and went into protection even when nothing was connected to it so I think this was just a bad amp so I just spent the extra money to get this Rockford and I am so glad I did.

To connect the amp I used a Best Kits BHO1761 and Best kits BHA1761 to connect to the factory head unit. I connected 2 PAC SNI-35 Line Out Converter. One to the front speakers for the doors and one to the rear speakers for the sub.

All in all, not a bad system for a small budget. I am happy with what I got so far. The sub box has a lot of angles 'cause I wanted to keep the back bottom area open to be able to access the seat belts when someone is in the back. Also, box size is .75 cu ft

Looks sweet bud, made my own to. Just a option, but instead of screws I used finish nailer and glue.

nice work man! What i have been telling people for years, you don't have to go spend thousands of $$$ to get a great sounding system. In the end sound matters, not the name of the brand .... now if it was BOSE or BOSS or any of those id sing a different tune

I did use glue, but ended up using screws to make it stronger and by habbit. Finish nails would have been easier to fill the holes before painting though

I didn't carpet because I had the black paint and primer already sitting around so I just used that.

Thanks everyone. I don't built many sub boxes so I didn't want to get to tricky with this one so I think in the end it turned out pretty decent for what it is and only used half a sheet of mdf so that was nice. I'll probably get fancier later, but I just wanted to get a system in there. I want to play with fiberglass next, but just need to pull the trigger and do it

Through the top where the amp is exposed and what you can't see is that the there is 2-3 inches of space between the amp and the sides of the box. There is also no bottom. I have been monitoring it to see if it gets too hot and if it does I will install some mini fans to blow the air out through the bottom where it is open
