Man... I feel like a kid on christmas eve... Got my sub installed today, and its on the way to me... I took it up there and let my girlfriend stay and wait on it..... She said its done and sounds awesome.....

I know i have been asking a ton of silly questions but i did all this on kind of a wim.... I had been thinking about it since i got the truck back in o7 and finally made up my mind last thursday to do it.... I ordered the sub thursday afternoon... Went to the hardware store saturday and bought a sheet of 3/4 mdf.....and a can of valspar textured paint..... Thanks to some help from lifesaflaw and some of other guys on here i got some dimensions, and after editing them a little bit, the box was finished up last night.... I dont think i could have picked a better color to match the interior of the truck.... Got it all installed today and i will see and hear it in a few minutes..... Man i cant wait....

Ill post pics in about 45 minutes or so... :d

OK... SO HERE ARE THE PICS... LOOKS REAL GOOD... I WANNA STRAIGHTEN UP THE WIRES A LITTLE BIT..... AND I GOT A LITTLE RATTLE SOMEWHERE BACK THERE I GOTTA TAKE CARE OF... BUT OTHER THAN THAT IT SOUNDS GOOD... NOT LIKE MY OLD TRUCK THAT I HAD WITH THE 2 MTX 12s BUT ITS PLENTY FOR WHAT I NEED NOW.... IT WILL PROBABLY EVEN SOUND BETTER AS THE SUB BREAKS IN.....

SO WHAT DO YALL THINK? IVE GOTTA PUT THE BACK SEAT BACK IN TONIGHT.. THAT MIGHT EVEN STOP THAT RATTLE...

ok.... so this thing hits hard!.... but the damn back panel rattles SOOO bad when it hits that i just cant stand it.... so, back to step one.... i need some dynamat, fatmat, raammat, or something...... what do yall recommend? im not sure the difference between all the above... i read that some are noise absorbers, some are vibration dampeners, im mainly interested in just stopping the god awful rattle...... HELP!

price and thickness is the main difference. Dynamat is the most expensive, by far. We receive a discount on Raammat, and I feel it is a fantastic product from an all around standup guy. Rick is pretty nice, very similar to Marv.

You should be fine putting a layer of Raammat on the back wall. As a stop gap, you can get some carpet or neoprene (anything that will act as a bit of a shock absorbing layer) and put it behind your box and under it, and it should work to cut most of the vibration out. Most likely it is the box vibrating directly against the sheet metal that is causing the noise. Just don't put it so think that you push the sub against the seat back.
