    Hey folks

Some of you may know, and for those that don’t, we had another TW member lose their home and belongings, including the Tacoma, to a wildfire yesterday.

Last summer I went through the same thing. The overwhelming generosity we received from TW at that time was amazing!

I am again paying it forward and coordinating fundraising efforts to get gift cards for our TW family.

Please use my PayPal to make your donation and I will see that it gets to @Whitebutler soon.

If you would like to send your old gift cards that still have a balance on them to me to forward, message me for a mailing address. Also, any Bed Bath Beyond coupons, I’ll take those too!

Big ones are King suspension, SSO bumper w/winch, Pelfreybuilt sliders.
I think I have some reward points on my CC that I could use for a Visa gift card. I don't know how much I'll be able to get but it's something. And I'll send you a donation too and some coupons too. We get bed bath and beyond pretty regularly.

I can't imagine what it would be like to lose my home and everything in it. My heart goes out to ya @Whitebutler.

You guys are way too much!
I've never seen a "FAMILY" like this. I'm literally thinking of turning my chonies inside out to get an other day before washing. I'm so grateful for all of you.
I'm so sorry for all those in our town that have lost loved ones. I'm so mixed up as well as our family right now. Your all amazing!

On an other note, my wife had to drive through the flames with our children to get out. Today she found an ax stored on the boys side of the 4 runner. She called him since he's now with his dad in Auburn. Little Billy said, "I grabbed it from the house in case a tree or beaches fell in our way I could try and save us." after I read these words it was total water works. Just so touching and also proud moment.

I'm so glad we're safe. Also doso gli have you all here! My heart and our thanks go out to all of TW.

Just got back from Chico dropping off my wife's elderly friend to her sons house. I can't believe all the people and how they are staying wherever they can. The ash and smoke are ridiculous.
On an other note my sister and mother both have had to leave Oroville area due to high wind warning and fire rapidly approaching. Now we have what are called jarbo wids. These winds are ruthless and very strong coming down the feather River canyon through Jarbo Gap. These winds are picking up now and expected through Monday morning. I expect an other blow up in fire size from past experience.

Ok just hit us. We saw video and there's totally nothing. The stemwall from our house and the three neighbors houses are also gone. If a fire is so hot the concrete burns I think it was not stoppable.
Forrest service friend of mine said the fire was moving fast and there was no warning. This was deiven by the Jarbo Gap wind at 52 MPH. Fire driven that way isn't able to be caught or slowed or stopped. Seen it before in areas I logged afterward.

Sorry for your loss and hope you and your family can recover quickly. These storms are unstoppable unfortunately. They said the camp fire further north moved at 80 football fields in a minute.

I'm going to get busy starting over.
I had all bare dirt no grass or leaves and had most of the empty lot next to us the same way. I had that feeling I had to do it. I tried!

The one reminder we kept was a cast iron skillet that became welded to the cast iron stove grate. And the handle of the skillet had melted off.

Those beasts are hot. I don’t even want to know what kinds of temps it took to melt cast iron.

Cast iron melts at 2,100 F. That is beyond comprehension. And I used to work in the mining industry and watch molten gold and silver.

    Wow. And damn.

Hers the grate and skillet. The part in front is where the handle was...

John, you have a new future to build, some hard work and hard memories, but thankfully the important things in your life are still there. Also, thanks for sharing, its a good reminder for the rest of us to not take the important things for granted.

After reading some posts and getting some messages, I want to be clear. All monies donated via PayPal go directly to our TW family members. None of it is being donated to charitable organizations. If you choose to make a donation to an organization, great!!

TW family helped us when we lost our home last year. I want to make sure our TW family is taken care of and Im paying it forward!
