I thought about overhead where the headliner curves back towards the back of the cab in between the clothes hanger hooks

I will have to look into this, at the same time I dont want to have to get into the truck to retrieve it in emergency, thats why I really like how I the access cab placement works.

Where did you end up placing it? I have a double cab and have it behind the rear seat - driver side but wish to have it more accessible. I have a full size bed rack and would like to place it outside but 1. Not sure how it'll hold up to the elements and 2. Not sure if it would be stolen or give bad people a tool to smash my windows and grab something.

I decided against that location since we got a dog and she gets the backseat I dont want to risk it coming loose while shes back there. I would like to store it in the bed somewhere Im not horribly worried about the elements since I realized that commercial trucks(like utility trucks) almost always have theirs mounted on the outside. I have thought of bolting a bracket to the top of the wheel well for one.

I have two in the truck. One mounted in the bigger bed cubbie with a quick fist and the other mounted in the back seat foot area. That mounting location worked better than I was anticipating.

I will take it out of the bracket too, so you can see where the bracket fits.

Thanks for the photos. I like that location but my three kids would probably bump into it all the time and set it off. I like your bed cubbie idea. Were you able to fit the same size in there as the one in your cab?
