Curious to see what type of training folks have done (aside from basic hunter safety courses or range sessions). For me, the only formal training I've done has been with Suarez International, but in my earlier shooting days I used to run CQB drills with a couple of friends that were vets (one a Ranger that was in Mogadishu, the other was a Marine that served in Desert Shield/Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom).

Here's my list (including some pictures)

Gutter Medicine for Shooters (2008) - improvised medical care in a hostile environment
    Defensive Pistol Skills (2009)
    Point Shooting Gunfight Skills (2010)

If you want good firearms training, then get into some competitions. Although all of the competitors will talk sh** about which style competitions (uspsa, idpa, steel 3 gun etc) is better. My opinion is shoot them all, the more trigger time you get under perceived stress with a shot timer the better your skills will be.

Here's a link to find different matches across the country. Go to the local match tab if you want to stay local.
