Outside of these reasons, is it necessary for someone like myself who has the bags but who simply drives the roadways and, occasionally (oh, 4 times a year), tows a 3k lb camper?

Yes. And I also have the cradles. Look closely. If you go through my album you can see my flex pics.

I decided to put the fill valves in the trailer plug plate, because I didn't want to drill the chrome bumper, and I may have the bed full of sand, gravel, firewood, etc. that will block the bed compartments. I have a portable air tank made from an old bead blaster for inflation. I keep about 90psi in it, so I can't accidently overinflate.
I keep 10psi more in the left bag to keep the truck level, because of gasoline weight (120lb full tank), battery, and my weight. This also cleared a minor driveline vibration at startup acceleration, even with 2200lb. in the bed.

Measure fender well to the ground both sides before you start the install, so you'll know what's normal for your truck.

At first, the nuts seem like they won't fit, but they will. They're deformed so they won't loosen. Just keep them lined up straight and slowly rotate until the threads catch. Then wrench them all the way tight. No lock washer, Loctite, etc. needed.

They leak because the end cut isn't perfectly straight. Get one of those small air line cutters off eBay or somewhere for a few bucks. Makes a perfectly straight, square cut without burrs. Presto, no leaks.

Reviving an old thread here, but this one seemed to have the most participation in terms of Ride Rite Installs. Will be installing mine in a situation without access to hot water, did everybody follow the directions in terms of soaking the lines in hot water before installing into the fittings? Any alternatives that may work? Thanks for any and all advice.

Sorry to revive this post. Again.
Can these be installed with a lift? The vehicle had bags, they were taken out, then a lift was installed to level the vehicle (had a front lift). Now we’re trying to reinstall some bags but the lift seems to be too much. Should we remove the block? Does the arm of the lower bracket HAVE to ride on the axel? I saw someone else installed the bags with extra leaves and the lower bracket was floating above the axel (which would happen if we installed these now) but not sure if that ok? Thanks.

I have a 4 inch lift on my truck and have had no issues with my Ride Rite air bags.
