Hey guys on Tacoma World, I joined when i bought my tacoma in july of 2022 i believe. Their have been some folks on here that have helped me and given me insight over the time ive joined. So, i wanted to share my experience on servicing the transmission when past its interval. As far as i know, my transmission has never been serviced. And i have just shy of 210k. My transmission started to shutter. I never wanted to touch it when it was fine because i had that belief to leave it alone when past its interval. Their has been lots of people to ask if i should change my transmission fluid? So, im here to tell you guys that myth is a bunch of crap. Mine just from the looks of dropping the pan and how my trans was acting, the fluid just did not have any of its properties anymore. I did a drain and fill, ran it in the air to cycle new fluid in it. Then, drained it again, dropped the pan, cleaned it up, put a new filter in. Then, put it back together. Put in 4.5 quarts of fluid to get it full. So, i cycled 7.5 quarts of new fluid in a trans that has never seen clean fluid in its life since new. I added some lubegard platinum and shudder fix in it just to keep it from happening again as a precaution. @gearcruncher suggested i do that, and that crap works. My transmission has never felt this good since i bought the truck. So, im sharing this since ive seen i dont know how many write ups on asking should i change it. From my personal experience and from my personal mechanic i trust, the only time it wont help to do this is if your trans is on its way out. But if you can tell that its the fluid causing issues, change it. And dont be afraid to add some lubegard. Wanted to give back to tacoma world since lots have give me insight on here.

Nice work. I did the same at about 12k miles ago with Valvoline Maxlife and Lubeguard Platinum and been smooth sailing.
