I may have to run by the junk yard and see if I can find a scoop and an extra hood.

How does the underside of your hood look... I am thinking about doing this and was curious if you ran the intake to there or just left it...

The bike rack on the back, I custom built out of an old weight machine, and some aluminum angle, so we could still use the area under the tonneau for storage:

The whole scoop is identical to how it sets on a 4Runner hood. It is not a true cold air system, I thought about modifying it...but didn't want water, snow, ice, going into the engine bay. I used all the 4Runner bracing too, just matched it up to the tacoma hood bracing.

Nice. I like that rack too. I just put on my roll up Access tonneu and hitch so I could put the bike rack back there, but over the tonneu would make more sense.

I see you painted your flares when you painted the hood. Did you do they just unbolt like they look, or are they on with tape too? I'm thinking about painting my grill surround and if they are mixing up the paint... the flares would be nice to match too.

Screws and these funny press in plastic dohickys that break when you take the flares off...so I bought new "dohickys". They fit in square holes in the fenders, I think you can see them in the pic below...:

Very nice distinctive detail for an updated look, like the color matched flares as well. Your work appears to hold-up from much closer than 20'.

How do you like the Goodyear SA's?

I was looking for good traction in snow, and I can say that I haven't had a better tire when it come to winter traction. I got the 10ply version, and I can also say they are pretty stiff. TireRack.com rates them very high.
