First gen short shifter possible?

    So I don't like how long the shift lever in our first gens are especially after having to drive my friends car home from Country Jam after his drinks haha. (Cavalier 5sp.) I kinda like the short shifters in the cars and second gens. Feels smoother.

    Is there any way that you can make it like the 2nd gens like this?

    FYI not talking about a swap, I just didn't know if there was anything like this out there. I also would like to ditch the bag , I think the 2nd gens look sleek . Thanks guys

    I heard they are rough and hard to get in gear for the first 5000 then are real nice.

    I don't even care about the performance increases I just like how the shifters in the 2nd gens are haha

    When you say you want pictures because you want a short shifter; do you want a short throw shifter or just a shorter shifter? From what I've read a short throw shifter puts more strain on the transmission, but a shorter shifter-just cut and weld the existing shift lever.

    This^ I was just doing some searching and yes I found the short shifter kits refer to the throw length,,, I just want the shorter actual length of the shifter haha I am not racing so I don't care about the throw length, Thanks for clarifying. I was about to post this.

    Does anyone make a replacement shorter "rod " that I would just replace?
    Id prefer not to cut
