First Gen Tacoma side step options

Wanted to see if anyone has seen these type of side steps on a first gen tacoma. My tacoma in the photo is a 1999 2.7L SR5 in Horizon Metallic Blue. I have been trying to find a first gen w/ these side steps but I have not seen any. They seem to be from factory but I'm not sure. FYI I'm not the first owner of this vehicle. That, combined with the color of the truck AND the color matched fender flares lead me to believe that this might be a rare taco. I know Toyota made the tube steps for the first gen but for the life of me I cannot find any like mine. Can someone help me out here?

 

I'd bet tomorrows lunch those are aftermarket bits painted to match.

But I'm only having crackers and hummus, so don't get too excited.
