The only reason I see for doing it is to go up, there is no functional improvement expect fitting bigger tires, which also kinda makes your vehicle worse. If your gonna be wheeling enough to make an inch in tire size matter then you probably want something better than spacers anyways. I'm of the opinion that if you are going to alter your vehicle you should not just go up for ups sake but try and gain capability. That's just me though.

I don't mean to be such a negative Nacy and poo poo on the party too much though, I mean not that I already haven't, but your truck is probably worth at least 16k, I just think when you think about how important suspension and tires are to a vehicle and how comparatively little it costs compared to the whole vehicle, it doesn't make sense to cheap out on them. If your truck is worth 16k the OME kit is less than 7% the cost of your car and is one of the single most important parts of the whole thing, especially in a truck. If your really budgeted, at least get some 1500's with the adjustable spring perch (don't mix and match front and rear shocks) and a AAL which is like 500. I haven't been in a Tacoma but I was in a different truck with 5100's and found them too floaty for my taste, but I think it had softer springs too. The OME rides firm like a proper truck and is better in corners than stock despite lifting, yet still complaint enough to soak up nice big bumps. Infact the firmness of the suspension is actually benifitial over really big bumps where a stock would bottom out. With some 265/75r16's you can bounce off curbs at 20 and it's not even harsh. I also have wheelers offroad superbumps and UCA's which are also something to consider.

I used to run spacers/blocks. It got a set of 285s under the truck without cutting, and the combination got me clearance for water/mud I was dealing with in the swamps of southeast VA.

It rode a little harder, but still within 'its a truck' range. I won't bash someone for using this kit, but I also wouldn't suggest he follows me wheeling on rocks and shit.
