Hello All. Glad I stumbled on this website. Anyways, I'm going to look at a 1996 Toyota Tacoma tomorrow. I wanted to know if there is any major known problems for this year/engine type. Ill post the specs below.

    V6
    4WD Automatic Transmission.
It has 145000 miles on it
    AC works perfectly
    Body in great condition.
Clean title/Paper Work Fully in Order
    CD Player

He has it listed at $5500, but it will need new tires in a few months so I was going to offer $5. Does this sound like a decent deal?

sounds like a good deal to me. Make sure to inspect the frame religiously for any serious rust, like if the frame has holes and stuff like that. surface rust can be scraped off and painted over..
