First Time Tacoma Buyer-First Generation

Hello Everyone,

I am looking at buying either a 1st or 2nd generation used Tacoma. I would like to know if there are any issues with the 1st Generation, other than the frames rusting. I am interested in 2001-2004.

I asked a similar question in the 2nd generation section as well.

The only other issue with the first gen besides the frame rusting (which Toyota will take care of) is the prices. If you find a nice low mileage one, you will pay a lot.
I keep looking for a unmolested 4x4 regular or extended cab but can't find a reasonably priced one. If you find one snap it up. I fooled around and missed a good one.
