I wish I had a before and after. My tailgate was horrible because someone (me) dried my truck at a commercial car wash with a rag that had dirt all over it... I failed to inspect rag

Finally started the detail process and I was blown away with the result. There is still one very small scratch that I will need to tend to, but I need to get a more abrasive compound.

I have a new found respect for dudes that truly detail their vehicles 7F88886F-E93D-4756-BFDD-623F94F04771.jpg

    Nice work, OP.

Most people aren't aware that with a quick polish with a DA, you can actually make a vehicle's paint look better than it did when it was new.

I just bought the porter cable random orbital polisher kit from chemical guys, did my truck with my Makita DA and it did a good jobon my truck but need a better unit to do paint correction on my wifes car which is not taken care of as well as my truck. The right tool for the job always helps.

If you want to take the next step up from a DA unit like the Porter-Cable, I'd highly recommend a Flex 3401. Rupes makes some good units too, but the Bigfoot I bought (after I wore out my first Flex) lasted exactly 5 minutes before the backing plate over heated and spit the pad off. Luckily, it didn't damage the vehicle I was working on. They took it back and offered to replace it, but I bought another Flex.
