    Hello everyone,

I recently picked up a GX460 that my wife and I plan to go off-roading with. The only off-roading experience I have is a couple of years of dune bashing in Dubai with a Jeep JKU. So I'm very excited to try out off-roading in Ontario!

I have plans to do a lift, sliders and skid plates in the future. My first upgrade was 17x8.5 +0 wheels wrapped in Falken Wildpeak AT3W 265/70/17.

I'm bummed that I just missed the beginner trail run last week, but here's to hoping another one will be around the corner!

it's almost too nice to take on the trail...

but then again i did see that same one up on North trail with a couple of old-school defenders so i can confirm they can hold their own out there :D

haha yeah, I'll most likely stick to the easy trails for now. I won't be hitting any lvl3 or higher trails and see where it takes me

GX460 is pure luxury. That 4.6L should have been in the tacoma too. Congrats on the baby landcruiser

Thanks! It did really well on the last couple trail rides. I think the GX460 is a hidden gem/under-rated and it's fun seeing people's faces when they see a Lexus on the trails :D.

I've been wanting to get sliders for the GX and the only sliders specifically designed for the GX cost $2,200 from the states after shipping, currency, and tax. Most of the less expensive sliders you see on the market for the GX are 4Runner sliders mounted on the GX, so they end up looking too short and unappealing.

So I decided to make my own. I designed the sliders on Solidworks then had the pieces laser cut. The toughest part was working in an unheated garage in the middle of winter haha. looking forward to testing these out at Ardbeg and maybe the Algonquin trip!

    dude, those are absolutely mint.

what metal did you end up going with all around?
my only "worry" is where the body trim/ rocker panel(?) are against the sliders, but with how built it appears i dont think that's an actual concern at this point.

Will love to see it at Ardbeg this year!

    Thanks!

I ended up using 2" square 3/16" wall inner tube/frame extensions and 2" round 1/8" wall outer tube. The step plate and box ends are also 1/8" thickness.

I hear yeah on the space between the sliders and trim, there's about 3/16" of space. I do think I should trim it back another 1/8" or more for good measures on a warmer day haha

can't wait for the spring or that one really really warm day in march before we get slapped by another last winter blizzard

buy na, she sounds stout! good on you for piecing it together. I googled JGC trying to figure out if you were pulling our legs and bought it off some unknown fab team

That's beefy. Most Taco sliders on the market use 1.75" x 1/8" wall round tube for everything.

Clean SKS by the way
