Fishing License Price

Just bought my new 2021 California State Fishing License, cost: $ 75.09 / Last Year: $ 72.62 Just curious what's the cost is in other States? It breaks down like this: "Sport Fish license Res" : $52.66, "Second Rod Sport Fishing Validation" : $16.46, "Sport Ocean Enhancement Validation" : $5.97.

 

A few years ago, I was able to get lifetime hunting and fishing licenses for both my kids for 200 dollars each. They have changed the prices since then.

 

$25 for NC resident freshwater fishing annual license.

 

~55 in Colorado. That does include a second rod fee for days when I end up letting a worm soak instead of flyfishing

 

$37 I think here in MN. Im thinking of getting the lifetime though, its like $575, but I will never have to buy another again.

 

$17 for freshwater & $17 for saltwater here in FL for 1 year if you’re a resident. Does not include snook and lobster permits. If you add that you’d be $54 for both fresh and salt for the year.

$38 for general fishing license.
$59 if you include trout
Plus other fees if you fishing certain bodies of water. (Permit)

 

Up in Canada I pay 55 bucks for a sport license . This allows me to fish for 4 walleye . If i purchase a conservation license at 34 bucks , I can fish for 2 walleye

I used to buy one in CA for 1-2 weeks use out of the year at our annual family vacation at Shaver Lake (Sierra Nevada's). I think the annual license was a better deal than the 3 day. Anyways, I think I paid around $40 something, but that was probably around 10 years ago. I was always checked for a fishing license too. Every time! So I didn't dare not buy it.

I swear the fish and game had a quota system, not to mention the BLM when it came to day use passes for dirt bike riding. The cost of living in that state is one of the many reasons I don't miss it. They get you coming and going, but I digress.

$43 in Maine for combo hunting & fishing license.

I believe it's $25 for fishing only.

 

Its $20 in WI. We can have 3 lines in the water also. Only thing that is extra would be your trout stamp and sturgeon.

 

There is no marine recreational fishing license in Hawai'i for either residents or visitors, so you don't need to worry about that as long as you don't sell your catch.

 

I paid $500 for a lifetime license 10-12 years ago. That covers me for all hunting and fishing anywhere in GA for life. Even if I move out of state. The only other expense is a Federal Waterfowl Stamp if I choose to waterfowl hunt. If you purchase one for a kid under 2 it is $200, under 16 the price is $300. My son got a lifetime license for his 16th birthday as will all of my grand kids.

Prior to the lifetime license I was spending ~$70/year for everything. Small game, big game, fishing, trout, GA waterfowl stamp, and a permit to hunt on WMA'a were all sold separately.

 

In MO, Trout is another $10 in addition to the $12.

Lifetime licenses scale by age, but are anywhere from $800 to $600.

 

In Ky, its $23 for fishing, $33 for trout and $95 for a sportsman license (hunting, fishing, statewide deer/turkey/migratory bird/fowl and trout)

Also, for those in CA who may be affected: I also remember reading somewhere that a license will also be required to take Dungeness crab (not sure if it also applies to red and rock crab) starting next year.
