I'm running KO2 265/75-16's in a 16x8 4.5 backspace wheel with no problems. Been running the wheel and tire size for about 5 years. As @eccracer104 said, that is the perfect wheel size for Tacomas, also prevents UCA rub going to the larger tire.

you get a wider stance because the new rims will push the tire out further. it has to do with the offset or backspacing.
someone with more knowledge will chime in

Because the wheel is an inch wider than stock and has a lower offset than stock. Offset/backspacing controls the positioning of the wheel in the wheel well. By having a 0mm offset it moved the hub mounting location to the center of the wheel vs the stock wheels which have it located more towards the face of the wheel. In turn this moves more of the wheel away from the suspension creating more clearance between the spindle/uca from the tire. Its a great fit for our trucks because the wheel and tire end up flush with the fender and there's enough inner room to fit larger tires.

This is a fun tool to use to compare the before and after. You just plug in your specs. upload_2017-6-13_9-30-8.jpg

You won't rub on the upper control arm, but you will most likely rub on the mudflaps. Remove the flaps (and suffer the eventual rocker panel corrosion) or get high-clearance flaps like Rokblokz.

Most likely the front flaps will need to go, rears can stay. But you may be able to keep the front flaps with some trimming. Modding your truck is a little bit trial and error to get everything to work the way you want it.

Sure. You'll have a lot more work to do to get them to fit, and you'll need wider tires which most likely will result in you needing a lift to fit them. 16x8 will fit much better.
