Yeah, I went ahead and bought them. If I don't like them, I'll sell them. I'm basically going to use them as a large tweeter.

Looking forward to seeing if they work for you in that roll.

If they're not at all squawky like the Kenwoods, I'm in!

Yeah, I'm not a fan of shrilly highs. The tweets that cam with the 692s are great, but with voice/audiobooks, they just don't sound great. I'm looking for a little warmer/less bright.....

They should be in Thursday, but I'm willing to bet it'll be Friday.

Found some tweeter adapters with a 2" opening. I'll get those on Thursday as well. I'll need to widen them just a little.

Did you make those pods? Very nice. I'd be in for a set lol

Also, I must be overthinking the whole adapter thing, yours are perfect and simple looking

Yes. Wasn't that bad to make it. PVC pipe turned down on a lathe to match the OD/ID of the GB10. Pointed them towards the opposite rear seat belt thing and glued them in.

I used 18 gauge steel, started with a thin aluminum sheet as a template. Covered in bed liner and that's it.

@rj_taco now you have me thinking of making my set up active 3-way.

Damn it. But I don't have a lathe/knowledge base for the sail panel pods.

Ha! Yes, 3 way active is the way to go. BTW, you can fit 8's or large 6 or 7's as deep as 3.4" with 1" thick mounting adapters and a little trimming on the door plastic. Just enough clearance for the window.

I can help you out with the sail once I get my truck back from a full repaint job. Send me PM...

I'm actually running a great set of speakers in the front (Morel Tempo Ultra 692 kit) that are pretty deep. I just want to add the 2-1/2 drivers to the dash and move the tweets to the sail panels. I'll PM you in a moment.

Can't PM you, something about your privacy settings. Anyway, here is where I'm at:

I jumped from JL to Audison for my sub, and it was well worth it. APS10D

What kind of box do you have? DC?

My issue is that i need to have access to the car seat rings behind the seats so they have to be small. That sub looks damn fine and might be at the top of my list if i am limited to shallow, which is very likely.

I have a Mr. Marv box that was built for a JL10TW2. The APS10D needs the same cf area, so it was a perfect switch. You can check out all my audio in my build thread.

Good info, thanks. I am installing speakers and dsp/amp this weekend, very excited. I actually bought pods for the gb25 to go on the a pillar thinking it was better than the stock tweeter location. Then talking to Andy last night he said "The stock location in the dash is a good location. The pods will be fine too.". I am going to install in the dash and go from there. Probably just sell the pods if i get the sound right.

Also, i was looking at the gs690 but figured if I got this far, might as well spring for the gb60, i certainly hope its worth the money....
