fixing blacked out headlights

I just bought an 05 tacoma with blacked out head and rear lights. I found out the hard way that they are ilegal in Va. Is there a way to fix the lights without buying new ones?

Ask around if anyone is willing to trade. That's your best bet, if you don't wanna buy new ones.

 

i think i would try wet sanding with 2000 plus and then clear coat and polish, if that doesn't work then buy new ones.

 

You blacked out the headlights, like sprayed over the lens??

Try some solvents to get the stuff off, maybe mineral spirits, gasoline or alcohol if it was a spray on tint (I'd recommend taking them off the truck first). If that doesn't work, the sanding method would most likely do it. regardless you'd need a decent polish to get them looking good again.
