Another successful General Springs HD install with all new GS hardware.

Install was easy. The u bolts from general were too long for my liking so I trimmed about 3/4” off. These u bolts and nuts look to be better quality over stock. The shackles, bushings and bolts all worked great. I also installed billy 5100s with the springs. Stock springs frowned. New springs smile. So far only a 10 mile test ride. I sense a little vibration at low speeds. I’m sure this will settle as the springs do.

Looks great! It's crazy how you get used to the saggy rear end look, and then when you finally replace the leafs it's like "whoa, it looks like a truck again."

Instead of starting a new thread I’ll post here. I just bought an 01 double cab. The previous owner put a fabtech suspension lift in the front and a cheap block lift in the rear.
Needless to say the springs, which I believe are original, are totally shot. Sagging like no other. Due to the 3in lift in the front I need to find springs with a 3in lift as well. Been looking at different sites and they are way out of my price range or have the front and rear combo. Anyone have any recommendations on leafs with a built in 3in?

Wheeler's Off-Road usually has great prices. A lot of people will say go custom with Deaver, but if you're not going to be going off-road all the time or carrying a lot of weight, I'd just go with the Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs. I have them on my truck and they have been good. After 2 years, it's sagging a bit more than the front, so now it's finally time to install the OME Add-a-leaf I ordered at the same time as everything else.

I think my off-road days are limited for a while, had Deavers on my old truck but paid out the ass for them and I was single at the time lol. I’ll go with the old man emu ones, looks like they add 2.25in lift. I’ll see if I can lower the fronts a bit.
Thank you for your help. I know the 2nd gens inside and out but new to 1st.

If the front doesn't lower down enough, you can always throw a heavy steel plate bumper up there :D

Lol that would require me to start buying tools again earlier than I planned. I kept my welder and grinders planning on starting over with fabricating when we get settled in CO.

Any opinions on ROADMASTER Active Suspension? Looking how it works, it puts additional tension on the rear part of the spring, leaving the front "unattended". Is this an issue?
