FJ FOG LIGHTS QUESTION

    Got a 2010 FJ came with factory fog lights. These lights will only light up when the headlights are on the high beam mode. To me that seems crazy because when your in the fog the high beams don't work that well as they light up all the fog. The dealer says that they are only supposed to work while in the high beam mode. If it were up to me I would prefer to have them light up all by themselves or light up while in the low beam mode. I think that they were wired incorrectly, dealer says NOT.
    Anybody out there have an FJ with factory fog lights? if so do yours light up only when your high beams are on or is mine a one of a kind? what do you think of having them rewired to come on whenever I want them to. Any suggestions ? thanks. BR
