I wished I had done it earlier. My fenders are cracked where the bumper kept contacting the fender.

You’ll be surprised I am sure when you see your bushings. Mine were toasted.

When we installed the ARB bumper, I was shocked at the look of them. Less than 5 years and they are already showing signs of breaking down.

I have the rest of the mounts to do. I’ll probably procrastinate that for a year or two.

    More bushings

UCA bushings were done so replaced them today. This video was very helpful
    https://youtu.be/bbsTJgb6S_c

    The wear
    https://youtu.be/_biWswchw-E
Noticed a crack in my fender tub. Will have to deal with this.
Also got some new fender skirts on as well

Over all the only pain is the sway bar links did not budge. If I have to replace them down the line they will be getting chopped.

I had mine in the box for a year as well. Kinda regret it because of all the damage the old ones caused.

    Few updates:

Remounted the awning at the back with a roof top carrier. I had to re-make brackets so the awning would mount on the cab rack and not interfere with the cargo carrier. I may redrill the holes to get the awning a bit closer to the truck.

Also found some time today to make another fire extinguisher mount.

I like that fire extinguisher mount. Gonna have to copy that one. Fwiw on the aluminum shells and welds cracking I've fixed two different aluminum ARE shells with a few cracks each they just don't seem put together well, maybe they're using 5xxx series filler and it's too brittle? I have a 15 year old aluminum framed cabover style shell from tradesman on my first gen and I bent the bed mounts on that truck with how hard I rally it. No cracks anywhere. I've full aired the truck with the shell a few times and it's hauled over 1000# of lumber on the roof more than a few times. I just bought a second gen taco from a friend that also has a normal height tradesman cap on it and am equally impressed with the build quality. Their side door hinges are really nice also.

Super thin gauge aluminum on my cap. Maybe 1/16th thick and no weld penetration. The welds all cracked. Pretty brutal. Regret buying it but at the time thought it would save me some money (wasn’t set up for aluminum welding and didn’t want a cap to be my first project).

I am at the point where I am going to wait till it becomes FUBAR and I’ll make a new one out of 1/4 aluminum tube with Jack points to lift it on and off. Right now mines bolted and would be a complete pain to remove.

gives me some time to setup my welders for aluminum.

thanks, the fire extinguisher mount was something I whipped up. Copied some ideas on the interwebs.

Yeah. Going to take me a while to collect parts, but figure it will be better to completely eliminate the electronics involved in the 4x4 system.
