Its was free and the photographer needed some more pictures of trucks. He hasn't shot to many. I was getting my head shots taken and he asked if I could stick around so he could shoot it. :der: Also who doesn't want high res pic of their truck at any stage of modification?

So a) I get that's a creeper/johnny joint... but I guess my dumbass doesn't get the point. What does it do/how does it help?

Edit, I think I answered this myself:

    http://www.trail-gear.com/shackles - interesting...

    b) ...:

What's up with this? What don't you like about it? Why didn't you weigh in? I didn't see you post once in the shackleflip thread...

Is your buddy that's making them being secretive and only making it for a select few or something...?

I wasn't talking about the one the guy just posted about in here. I really like that design. My old quote was in regards to another guy who's going to be releasing them sooner then later on TW. Pretty sure there are going to be 3 guys making them and ATO if Kevin can finish R&D so 4 in total.

The guy I know had a mini GB for forum members only (different forum) and I'm assuming it's so he could test his design. He will eventually offer them to the public, but I have no idea when. I'm in no rush to get it so I haven't even asked when I will see it :D The advantages of the one I am getting is optional shackle lengths, greasable johnny joint (some people hate and flame them - some people love them), and greasable bolts.

    Thanks Doug!
I cheated and disconnected the shock on that side
But that's what I was looking for, and once the new shock mounts get burned in hen ill measure for new 515O's and I'll hopefully be able to get a decent amount of travel out of them

The one fabjunkie is about to release provides optional shackle lengths, greasable johnny joints and greasable bolts, assuming you swap out for all of that.

Plus, it also provides 18+ mounting points (even more if you have aftermarket leafs) and it's freakin stout. I think I found the one you were talking about on another forum, no worries. I'm very happy with mine :D

Edit - for now I'm reusing the stock shackle. I will look into a creeper joint like you suggested tho, thanks for the tip.

With the proper tools, it could be done in ~4 hrs. Took us 6, because we ate, shot the chit, and played with a few things while we took pics of the install.

Without the proper tools, it would be difficult. The reason I say that is the rivets - the stock shackle mount is riveted to the frame, and if you don't have a small cutting wheel and an air hammer, it would take FOREVER to get those rivets out. These tools are pretty cheap, my buddy's air hammer is insane and he said it was $15, ha!

Once the rivets were out, it was a freakin dream!! Everything went together very easily once those were gone...
