So far the only things that got destroyed are the AC inverter and last Wednesday the passenger seat occupant detection sensor appears to have given out.

For now I'll be putting up with the airbag and seatbelt dash warning light until some other folks have unfortunate events that cause some used sensors to hit the market (a new sensor is over $400 by my best research). If I'd known what the sensor under my seat actually was then I would have dried it out and probably saved it earlier. I had only unplugged the wires from it before, not knowing that the thing had a computer chip inside that needed dried out. Luckily I have a Carista and shut off the seatbelt warning chimes already.

Next weekend I hope to have my new aftermarket inverter installed and post a few more pics that might be useful to others.

I'm curious how you are going to install and wire the aftermarket inverter. I have a SR5 (which is partially prewired for the AC inverter and outlet) and I retrofitted the bed outlet, inverter, switch, fuses and wires so I know from studying the EWD that it's pretty darn complex. In hindsight, too much work for such a weak ass inverter so lemme know what you rig up

It took a few weeks longer than expected but I finally got around to finishing installing the new inverter and truck bed power outlet. This one has 800W continuous output compared to the 400W max of the stock inverter. I was able to squeeze it into the center consol without losing any storage space after trimming ~1 inch off the back end. I even have 2 AC power outlets in the cab now.

I ran a heavier extension cord to the bed outlet that can handle a couple more amp.
I can now run the blender for margaritas in the evening and then a small coffee maker to help wake up in the next morning.

No other new problems from the water have come up since the last update.

Hydrolocked motors don't restart. Because stuff like connecting rods get bent.

It just got wet and stalled.

No use of factory wiring for the inverter. Used about 9 feet of 4 gauge AWG wire for the positive and negative, 150 Amp fuse, and 200 amp continuous/300 amp peak switch in the positive line to run from the battery to the inverter.
I removed most of the factory wiring (pictured) then ran a medium-heavy duty extension cord to run to the bed.

The blue wire in the picture is the factory positive power. I'd guess it's only 2 gauge at best since it's about half the size of the newer 4 gauge. It ran under the front pax seat to the frame, into the pax side of the engine bay, under the air intake, then back into the cab (I have no idea why it even goes outside of the truck on the passenger side rather than straight towards the relay switch and battery which is on the driver side). The factory inverter looked to be grounded right where it sits under the center consol.

I scavenged the heat shield wrap from the factory wiring to protect the extension cord which runs near the exhaust.

wow. congratulations OP. you've got guts/balls and skills. that's the way to do it. I wish I have some of your skills. don't mind the few haters. you could paint the red plates under the console black and no one would notice . looks clean

Truck is holding up great, no side effects beyond the initial damage. it's my daily driver and does a couple cross country road trips each year. It's at ~33,000 miles now.
