yup I have no idea when it was last changed but now I need to decide if I change the oil until I get the seal changed or change the seal and drain it then

 

I used this when I bought all my gear oils, throw a couple other things in and your right at $100.
This saved me $40 on top.

Oh that's not bad, but all I need is the rear diff oil since I'm not a sport nor do I have a tcase or front diff lol

 

yea it only takes 3 quarts, but if u do order from advanced, there is coupon code for always 30% off, it just doesn't work on motor oil

Hey for the for the diff gear oil does it really matter what brand I put in,

$28 75w 90 Synthetic Gear Lube - 1 Quart (Pack of 2)

75w 90 royal purple is on sale but 3 qts is almost $50 then master pro 80w 90 is $18.

I'm just trying to justify spending the $50 for name brand gear oil

 

I used mobile one syn. Think it is just personal pref.

cool, well I guess I'm just gonna have to be close to breaking the bank...and buy the oil and pinion seal. Dried everything off last night and driving today sitting here at OReillys I checked the flange again and there's splotches of new oil and it looked like there was some around the flange...so it is leaking. I'm also doing the diff breather mod while I'm at it

 

So the diff is leaking?

 

Ya it is, i need to go back to OREILLYS and order that seal, i was hoping someone else had it but nope...i want to get this done by the weekend, I don't like driving with a leaking diff. I'm gonna be close to being broke...but ill have everything I need to fix the seal. I just bought the Mobil 1 gear oil for $35

 

personally, i like using oem parts, sometimes they are the same, but sometimes they actually fit better, i wouldn't think the difference in price is very much
