Here's actually a video of same truck taking off.

Yeah, it's really not bad for just catback exhaust on V6 3.5L

If I remember right I think he was running a single in/dual out with 2.25 pipes, maybe 2.5" tips... Something like that. Like how the tips are nice and small and tucked away. Makes me wonder how my big as 4" Magnaflow tip is gonna look.

Yeah, I went with the 12" bottle style too. Originally had the ultra quiet picked out, but I was to worried about it sounding like a stock exhaust. I don't want it to be to loud and/or a ricer sound with pops and farts all over the place, but at the same time I don't want it to be stock quite either, figured the regular 12" one would be a good trade off... Guess I'll find out. Wonder what it will sound like with the 3.5L.

Actually got the URD Y-pipe as well. Got the flange on it cut off today and had a short 2.5" -> 3" reducer (enlarger) TIG welded on the end, and that in turn TIG welded to a Vibrant v-band. Other v-band flange I had TIG welded straight onto the 3" resonator. Pairing everything with a 3" (18" long) Magnaflow muffler. Hoping it sounds just loud enough at startup and the resonator will help to kill any drone at highway speeds.

Sounds just like the stock saggy V6, but louder. No beef... I'm suddenly craving rice..

Yeah it's difficult with a V6. All you can do is try and be willing to remove and try again if need be. I took a gamble putting a Spintech 6000 on my truck. I had a Spintech on my Dakota R/T 5.9L V8 years ago. God that thing sounded nice. Only found two other Tacomas on youTube that had Spintech mufflers. Really hard to tell from a video what real life will sound like.

I'm fairly happy with mine for what it is. When I'm at the shop having work done I can tell the unique tone of my truck starting up from inside the building. Even had techs ask me what I put on it because they were surprised how it sounded. It's not a head turner but it doesn't sound like anything else.

It's not a V8 but if you want something other than stock I think it's a good option. If you're considering that exhaust you may want to consider just replacing the muffler. I just had mine replaced with a 50 series delta flow. I know the flowmaster full exhaust has 50 series but it might not be the delta. I paid about a 1/3 the price of the full exhaust though. You're not going to see any power gains out of an exhaust so might as well save some cash since its really all for noise.

No, and the clips I've seen aren't very true to sound either. If I remember correctly you had the MBRP right?

The 50 delta is considerably quieter than the MBRP. I had a Magnaflow catback prior and the Magnaflow was quieter than the MBRP too, but it droned a lot. The 50 has no interior resonance. You can hear it inside the truck, but it doesn't ring in your ears.

Yeah I had the MBRP and hated the dang drone that came with it. Considered doing just a muffler and going with either the super 40, Delta Flow, or the 50 series. Does yours have a deep sound when idling or accelerating?

It has some bass when accelerating, its not as deep as the magnaflow was but it also doesn't drone for the same reason. If you want it more aggressive Id go with the 40 delta, I almost did that but in the end the 50 turned out to be perfect for me. I wanted noise but not drone since I make routine trips to Cali just about every year.

Ah nice okay I just might end up going with the 50. Still deciding.

I've been running my 40 Delta Flow for a few weeks now and I like it mostly. It has a resonance at 1400 in 5th or 6th under load and around 2000 during upshifts. 4th gear accelerating or going uphill it comes in kind of loud. All other times it sounds nice. No highway drone. Sounds nice around town. I am thinking of switching it out but I haven't figured out what to put in.

Had the Flowmaster Super 44 put on the truck Friday. I HATE this damn thing. It drones something fierce at about 1400 and 3000 rpm. In the access cab, which is known for being louder in the cab, it feels like it's eating into your brain. It makes my teeth hurt.
I don't know what the hell I'm going to do about it. I can ask about a resonator, but I have a feeling I'm gonna have to have them cut it out and put something else in, but no clue what.

I would think a resonator would help, if not go to a 50 series and the resonator.

If that doesn't quite it down enough, then like the other post said, swap out for a 50 series.

I listened to a lot of clips and went to a local exhaust shop. The guy had a lot of Toyotas and said he thought magnaflow sounded best. I had flow Masters put on my tundra and they were so freaking loud I didn't want to make that mistake twice. I went with a magnaflow muffler and love it....The sound is great on my Tacoma. That's just my opinion.
