I have a four banger, and I wanna get rid of that POS stock muffler that makes me sound like I'm driving a prius. Local autozone has a Super 44 I can get, it will fit perfect and its easy to install. (I'm a welder). But I have seen a lot of tacos with the super 40 muffler instead. What is the difference? If I went that route I would have to have the muffler ordered. So should I go 40 or 44? Or something different?

i had a 40 series installed a couple of weeks ago. and its loud supposedly louder than than the super 44. it does have some drone but overall it does not sound ricey at all it sounds rather deep on idle and as the revs climb it does not sound bad. i had originally wanted to get the super 44 as well but the guy at my muffler shop told me to go this route instead. i'm happy with it and i think it makes my four banger sound pretty ballsy.

I commented on your build or something a few days ago about your exhaust tip. Haha it like it it a lot, but I don't wanna remove my spare, so my options aren't as wide.

I have a Super 44 slapped on my 6 cylnder and I'm happy with it. My worse fear was that it was gonna sound like an import but it doesn't. I was debating on the Super 40 as well but decided to go with the 44 instead. Supposedly, the Super 44 is the loudest muffler that Flowmasters manufacture that are street legal. My buddy has a Ranger and he has a 40 series, not the super 40 and it sounds nice at startup but I can't hear anything when he drives away. Not sure how it would sound on a 4 cylnder though, sorry brotha. Good luck with your choice.
