I have lived in Vegas for 25 years after growing up between IL and WI, and moved here for my love of dirt bikes and wide open spaces. My dad just picked up an 09 Tacoma last month and in my efforts to help him find how to screw with the OEM design I tripped over this kick-ass site. I have already found a ton of stuff for lifts, tires...you name it. I have never owned a 4x4 truck, just used the 2wd to get the bikes and quads to the edge of where I wanted them. Well damn the old man now I got the bug serious. While looking for zoot shit for his quad-cab I have started a list of shocks/springs/tires/wheels etc. for a truck I don't even freakin own yet! Geez. Anyway, I look forward to joining the sicko community of Taco lovers and will be a lot more active after I get my own ride. For now I gotta settle for abusing my dad's, which I'm more than a little too old for:D

Welcome, I am in Henderson. Check out the SW region thread and say hi. :D What dealer did your Dad buy from? I suggest Findlay Toyota, I have had much better service there than Fletcher Jones and the others. Good luck finding your truck, what are you looking to get?

Yep, he went to Findlay as well and had a great experience there. I have looked at the SW thread and it looks like lots of rep from Vegas, CA, and AZ.

Shopping wise, I "would" skip the TRD but want the rear locker so that looks like the route. Icon (formerly Donahoe) makes a sweet coil over up front with stout Deaver springs out back good for 3" lift. I don't think I will lift the body though. THis setup is good for running 33's and I don't mind some sawzall maintenance if necessary. I also need to contact a dealer in regard to the TRD supercharger. Wondering if there is such a thing as not busting a new warranty if they do a dealer install when new.

I'm on the fence between the dbl cab or the access and honestly I'm thinking of waiting to see what the 2010 lineup offers since Toyota has a pretty solid 5-year timeline for anything beyond cosmetic changes. An access cab with the small bed would be great. While I will do a lot more 60-80mph fire roads than attempts at rock crawing; I still love Moab and the same long wheelbase regardless of cab/bed configuration is my only gripe with the current Tacoma line. I love the truck but when you get stretched out over the technical low speed stuff the distance between f/r tires kinda sucks:eek:. Thanks for the regional direction and I will keep you posted on my progress.
